  • I wish I was a programmer in those days. I can't stand today's brogrammers they totally annoy me and are marginally better with women.

  • The dancers belong to Paul Allen?

    PIMP ALL THE HOS!!!

  • Being rich mattered to Jobs, only because he knew it was the only way he could do what he dreamed of. Woz was a technical nerd, a technical genius who only wanted to mess around with computers or play pranks on people.

  • @macomputersuck 1 person is NOT a nerd

  • One person missed the like button

  • The real kicker of the evolution of computers, is that we are computers ourselves, and that the computer is (consciously or unconsciously) modeled after humans.

Obviously, the forms are completely different, but it's the underlying mechanisms (especially input => process => output) that matter.

Take for instance just the act of watching this video on youtube.

I take in the input (the video), process its contents - combining it with information stored in memory - and output my observations.

  • Watching this kinda gives you hope that all you need in life is to think outside of the box.

  • WOOOHOOO some old data center LULZ with fast router 10mbps running up your 56kbps modem and napster was alive and also google was a new website

  • Rofl Intel will be dead in 5yrs ARM chips which power mobile devices have killed the pc FOREVER

  • @Afroxec Intel has diversified. It isn't just in the PC microprocessor business anymore.

  • @Afroxec They will just expand and focus more on mobility if they find more money in the mobile market.

  • Anyone else watching this and working on a personal program at the same time?

  • thanks for uploading, I've been looking around for this documentary for a while. :)

  • is working as a programmer/software engineer really like how those kids work.

  • 5:19 hahaha women are not interested in technology

  • @garry2301 Nobody gives a shit about ANYTHING you say, Westboro Cult Attention Whore Wannabe.

  • "To help u understand it all, I will now take off my clothes..."

    LOL!!!

  • Maybe more than a little suspicious: the thing that killed Steve Jobs has the initials PC...thank you philosoraptor

  • BS, Jobs was in it for the money from the beginning.

  • @MisterXenocideZero Agreed, but if he wasn't, we wouldn't have the iPhone and such that we do today. ^_^

  • "What did you do when the power went out?"

    "You cried"

    lol

  • This is the best program about the history of the PC ever. It should be mandatory viewing in every school.

  • @TheJediCharles

It was mandatory in my middle-school typing class.

  • @Mytholgylove

Really? Huh!? That's doubly odd. First, that it was made curriculum. Second, in TYPING?

Oh well, take it as we can get it I suppose.

  • I wish my office was like that! haha

  • Was interested in this until 5:20....then I got BORED. And it's no coincidence, because I'm a female. What is not a coincidence is that I am also offended as a female programmer.

  • @Love4Peace502 This were the 80s...

  • @razor2002 While I understand that, I can assure you that this attitude towards women in the IT field still exists today.

  • @Love4Peace502 its not that we don't like woman or think of them to be lesser. Its just, we cant talk to them.....

  • @razor2002 this was the 90s.

  • i think being rich, did matter to jobs

it didnt matter to woz...who basically chucked it all when it stopped being fun

  • @brabon1 I'm not so sure. Steve was not interested in yachts or fancy houses.

  • @flaggerify but he did own multiple homes. look at woz. put on a music festival with his own money (that lost money) went back to teaching, started multiple charitable orgs

  • @brabon1 Woz left Apple not only for the reason that it stopped being "fun." He left mostly for the reason that he hated Jobs demented style.

  • @brabon1

You are wrong. Read about Jobs and you will understand that material things meant little to him. Making great products did.

  • @nnnnnn95 Yeah, because Steve Jobs was an engineer.

    "Make it... BETTER."

    "Yes sir."

  • @superearthbender Whats that have to do with money? BTW, telling someone else to make it better is not so easy. No one else did it. Hmmmmmmmm?

  • @nnnnnn95 I guess you're right, everyone has their part. Jobs' just was the one of stealing credit.

    "I invented this."

  • RIP Steve Jobs.

  • oh how i love the LCD monitor =)

  • home sweet home

  • Should be asleep but I'm rewatching this.

  • @alexvegas nobody gave your comment a thumbs up

  • @MaryJane3974 Er, same goes for the majority of comments. Really not sure why you singled me out.

  • Thanks for uploading! I wish I could have seen this back in 96'.

  • Thanks for uploading! I wish I could have seen this back in 96'.

  • ITs amazing how someone could event something so big and powerful for years to come just because they liked each other and it was something to do...

  • If you still use "cobol" how come u can't spell it?

  • Quantum computers are going to kick ass!

  • Actually to see such, or this dokumentation makes me a litle bit sad. I can remember a time when there was no internet, no cell phone and allmost noone had a pc. and we (allmost) all made it till today, dont we!?!

  • @captainbackflash Development of the computers, internet and cell phones has killed almost all natural social internaction between people. Talking about revenge of the nerds, lol

  • @Quex01 yes, that is totally treu. I havent considered it that way.

  • Kobol?- I have a calculator that could be programmed in kobol. I stil use it as an engeneer.

  • @muskypucker Heck, the whole internet has come along since 1996. At least in most people's eyes.

  • i feel home!

  • LOL, this is all SO true. I'm sitting here watching and thinking about how I'm going to get this Form in VB to connect to the database the entire time, TOO FUNNY! CSCI is great though because one always struggles to reach the next level and it is ALWAYS a challenge! Never boring! Great Documentary though! It's just all SO true and right on!
