For the guys who didn't understand why they wanted to die: They knew they would lose that round and they didn't want to have to defend again cause offence is easier, the team with a good k/d is chosen to defend in the last round and the team with a bad k/d is chosen to attack the bomb sites. They wanted to be the team attacking which meant they needed to die more, hence they let themselves get killed.

Offense is easier, they were knew they were gunna lose the round, so to make it switch sides they needed to have worse kd then the other team. If the kd is better they are put on defense.

I have used that exact tactic in Doubles Demo before as well, but in MW2. On Karachi I noticed that the attacking team always won, and thus tried to die as much as possible. My doubles team went 12-0 that season because of it.

If you get more kills than the other team then you get defense. But in their opinion defense sucks. So they wanted the other team to get more total kills than themselves so they could switch back to offense thus explaining their overzealous excitement to die!

the black ops maps are actually divided into numbered parts, but nobody uses that for the communication :S for example you could say "he is at C3" and everybody knew pretty good where he is on the map (next to the A-bomb in his case)
