I was looking to get the Sony HDR-CX350v camcorder. But I'm was also kind of interested in the Sony CX550v which I think is the big brother of the cx350. I know that the CX550v has more features and stuff, but is the quality of video any different? And is it worth it to upgrade and get the CX550v? Or would it be better to save money and get the CX350v?

"it shoots HD which is the same as the pros" ya ok amount of pixels is the same but the quality isnt. you need to drop like 4 grand on a HVX200 to make your picture look anything close to pro

pros dont shoot in 1080p....they shoot in 2K or 4K with RED cameras

They also use Panavision and others of corse mainly Film but more and more are using Digital Sensors that are either 4K or 2K and 1080 is close to 2K only around 100 pixels off. 2K= 2Megapixels 4K= 8.8Megapixels and 1080= 2Megapixels.

The Last ep of House and next season, last season of 24, and CSI Miami all now use the Canon EOS 5D Mark II exclusively. Guess what it only shoots 1080.

@MacBookGuy91 I know that. I have a 500D and I shoot in HD, but I disagree with his saying that pros shoot in standard HD. The compression off of consumer HD cameras is so bad, but the pros dont use H.264 or AVC they use other codecs and usually dont compress their footage

haha yes, there are a lot of opinions in this video that are passed off as fact.

film isn't going anywhere, even if digital catches up in terms of lattitude and resolution, film will always provide different looks and will always be an option for it's look.

And film will be around for a distribution format for a long time either way.

Film is going to be obsolete in a few years, digital is far cheaper and far better in the aspect of quality and ease of use. Another thing is that the new RED Cameras can get up to 4k as well.
