  • oh look its Sweetness lol

  • oh look its Sweetness lol

  • That new Geico commercial plays a song that reminds me of this.

  • Watching this show sure brings back memories.

  • thank god for the internet!

all i remembered from this show was the fact that i used to watch it all the time, the name l train, and the episode where l train thought he copyrighted his song be cause he copied the lyrics over rand over again haha.

typed "sitcom l train" in google and this is the first thing that came up.

  • And, even though this program was something of a beginning vehicle for Wesley Jonathan (who still hasn't gotten much work since then), I think the brother who played "Jamal Jenkins" on the now-classic PBS 90's hit, "Ghostwriter", should've gotten the job instead. I'm pretty sure that Marcella Lowery (0:40)--who obviously played 'Jamal Jenkins'' grandmother on "Ghostwriter"--made a suggestion for him to get that starring role on this show. If I remember correctly, his name is Sheldon Turnupspeed.

  • 0:37--Yankee Stadium R.I.P! 1998 World Champions!!!!!

Yeah...what a show that was. The show was truly like a "Saved by the Bell" for us New Yorkers (outer borough New Yorkers, more specifically). Scott Whyte...yeah, his name said it all, didn't it? :D And that cat who played "L-Train" was the fuckin' man! I knew dudes just like him in BK back in the 90's! Lol...

  • I miss the 90's

  • I remeber watching this on saturday mornings as a kid, 90s baby!!!! Thanks for posting this.

  • the best view is 0:39 god i miss that view, i would see it everyday all the way from Queens. god i miss the 90's. when America felt like America

  • i havent seen that show in 26,000 years!

  • Love this theme song.

  • I loved this show

  • It's hilarious people think this was a good program, the only thing remembering is the so awful it's good song.

  • only watched this cause it was on after the cartoons, but i still loved it hahaha

  • sat mornings suck now. nothing like the 90's

  • 2 rich guys and one of them pretending to be poor....guess which colour he was :P

  • @longview161 dumbass kid

  • @AndreRedd1Empire kid haha, next time check my profile and my age before trolling...

  • I am not ashamed to admit that after all these years I still can sing well rap this entire song. This is when tv was good. Wish we could bring that back.

  • @iToriwish Good on you man!!...all i could rap was "C.I.T.Y you can see why this guys"..and the rest i made up untill were they say "city guys".... English is not my first language, thats my excuse;).

  • Out of all the shows that aired on tNBC, City Guys was the best. It's hard to believe one of the writers and producer on City Guys went on to Create Wizards of Waverly Place.

  • @Hibbs4Prez--L-Train was dumb plus he looked too old to be in high school in the first place. Towards the last season they gave him a bigger part (more dialogue) I like it better when the dumb guys spit their one liner and leave the scene. Also, kinda silly to be a senior about to graduate and still having Ms. Noble catching you....Still I liked the show for the most part....L-Train was whack...

  • This show was cool until they started making L-Train more of a main character. I know comedies usually have 1 dumb guy buy he was a bit annoying...Jamal and Chris were cool and the 2 chicks and the philipino guy were solid. I thought the part with Ms. Noble constantly on their case was a bit played as well but it was still better than other tnbc shows....Always liked California Dreams better than saved by the bell....Thats just me though.....

  • @sagla13 What? L-Train was money. Its not as if they overused him.

  • damn me n mama dukes use too alwayz watch dis every saturday mourning miss da 90's, dey need to put dis show on TVone or Cetric...

  • Jansport backpacks, usher was the hot thing for the ladies, wwf and wcw, 90's television, I have waaaaay more, I miss the 90's

  • lol, watching wesley jonathan on 'cold case' rite now. knew i recognized his face...but didn't know from where...had to look this up...lol, i totally forgot about this show!!!

  • The 90's produced QUALITY programs!!!

  • LOVED CITY GUYS!!! BET PUT IT ON FOR TWO WEEKS THEN TOOK IT OFF!!! BASTARDS!!!

  • Bring Back Black Teen Shows. lol

  • this takes me back late '99 and 2000.

  • they should get rid of qubo and bring tnbc back!

  • This was and still is a great show they need to put this back on .... the shows now on TV are c r a p ... this show always delievered a good message and was funny to boot .. and no laugh track like shows today they performed before a live audience every week for 6 years .. good job Scott WHYTE later was Gunnar in Mighty Ducks..

  • I remember this show but wasn't a very big fan was still into the cartoons miss Captain N The Game Master, Garfield, The Smurfs, Snorks, I miss the both the 80's and 90's

  • Its takin me back..

  • They need to put shows like this on Teen Nick instead of crappy iCarly and that god awful Ned's Declassified.

  • i used to LOOOOOVVVVEEEE this show!!! To this day when i see Wesley Jonathan i ALWAYS think of this first :) Man i sure miss the good ole days with these type shows

  • fuck i grew up th this fuckin shows ahhh these fuckin shows were the shit

  • i remember comin home watching this back in my elementary days

  • i was up all night on the computer, because i couldn't sleep, so at exactly 7:00 on a saturday earl morning the intro came on, so eyes are glued to the computer, so i didn't stop to take a look. i was so angry at myself for not looking,i thought i'd never find out what it was, so i was singing the theme song, barely knowing the words, to my sister and BAM! she saved me lol. i love city guys !,

  • I couldn't wait 4 Saturday mornings! Wesley Jonathan was such a cutie! This song was super catchy! I miss these days so much!!! ;(

  • Wow!!!! I luv'd this show! I still do "El Train"! LOL

  • Scott Whyte will always be Gunnar Stahl to me.

  • I recently got into the Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place. I normally don't like the Disney shows but this one is just funny. Anyway I looked up the creator and saw that he created this show to which I watched a long time ago.

  • @Carissa101512 omg TELL ME ABOUT IT! I was 15 or 16 loving some TNBC!

  • <3 <3 <3 WESLEY JONATHAN!!!!

  • This needs to be on DVD, all 5 seasons. Everyone knows it.

  • i use to love this. i am so mad i lost the photo i took with them back when i met them at the 2000 kid choice awards

  • New York is so 90s

  • Scott Whyte is the 90s.

  • I wish they could put these on DVD. I loved that show along with One World. TNBC was my thing when I had got too old for One Saturday Morning on ABC!

  • FOR YEARS I WAS TRYING TO THINK OF THIS SHOW, IT BUGGED ME HELL!

I just feel like crying when i see ALL of these old shows back in the 90's the best years of my life, i really need a time machine so badly. I've nearly forgot most of the shows. These shows ARE the BEST from smart guy to catdog from dinosaurs to are you afraid of the dark, i think the Nickelodeon or something should just have a day with all of the shows back then they would make a lot of money, so many people would appreciate it.

  • @tamairaH1 I completely agree with you! That would make my day if Nickelodeon or someone did that! :-) Kids now days don't know what they're missing... the 90's were the BEST!!

  • @jkdv3gb32e432 YOU TOTALLY ROCK, exactly the kids now a days don't know what they are missing i so badly feel like making a partition saying that they should do a least a month of all the old shows back in the 80's and 90's. We deserve it god damn it. haha :P x

  • i hope somebody put this on torrent all 5 seasons

  • @metaknightguyWII i only seen season 5 and nobody was seeding it : (

  • Don't romanticize - this show sucked.

  • @stitsel28 LMAO! Guess us '90's kids have a bad habit of doing that. I'm nostalgic for the show, but looking back I only really liked the theme song (still do). Otherwise it was another "Saved By The Bell" clone, with a horribly inaccurate portrayal of NYC as its backdrop.

  • Lol. I remember watching this show all the time after school back in the 90's. The episode with Rob Van Dam was my favorite.

  • good god this was crap

  • Omg! I miss this show and the times

  • SOMEONE PLEEEAASSSEEE BRING BACK THE 90's!!!!!!!

  • @jkdv3gb32e432

OMG I wish we could bring the 90's back. Music, television, education, economy, world relations, everything was better back then!

  • @jkdv3gb32e432 thank u

  • Wes is still so fine!! and wow remember when showws had actual theme songs!!

  • they should released this show on a dvd box set.

  • @2Beatboxer was there even enough episodes? I love this show man!

  • bring back tnbc! lol

  • The great thing about this show was that it wasn't just cheesy messages like the majority of sitcoms nowadays, they actually talked about real issues like death and divorce.

One of the last great shows.

  • @frickfrock999

Too true!! that what loved about this show.

  • i miss tnbc. they had great shows. now they got qubo. uggh!

  • Omg... I LOVED this show so much. I feel so old now.. 23 /cry. C-I-T-Y, stuck in my head now.

  • man, this show brings back too many memories. it's crazy how time flies by so quick that you don't appreciate how great the shows were at the time. as far as tv, we 90's teenagers had it really good! i'm glad they show this on BET now. this will always be a dope show.

  • @kiduprock04 They show this on BET?? When?! Omg i have to look it up lol I haven't seen this show in years

  • @LucyBbyGrl well, they did for a few weeks..now they took it off the air? man, i'm upset now. hahahaha.

  • Of course the best city of any show made by the Save by the Bell creator. Seem the most realistic.

  • Back when Saturday morning programming was worth watching. I didn't know this started in 1997 tho. Too busy watching Recess, Doug and Pepper Ann (yes PEPPER ANN!) to notice. I didn't catch on to this show until 99 I guess you could say. Funny how this show was set in NY but the main actors were Californians! Haven't seen this show in years but I loved it when it was on. This, One World, Student Bodies and Hang Time.

  • I wanna be a CIty Guy!!!

  • Watched it on BET too

  • i use 2 watch this wen i was 7 back in 2000 ;-)

  • @Aljharewood R U SERIOUS?! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

  • @Aljharewood What happened to the City Guys Marathon? I turned on the TV to check the recordings on my DVR and find episodes of The Game. I noticed the schedule change the last time and thought it was just an error. I decided to record using manual settings and it wasn't city guys. I want City Guys!!!

  • @FreeSoul90x heh if it's a dude than you got a crush on a dude. lolz

  • Comment removed

  • @Tr0llsNeverDie LOL YES Im a girl.. one who was basically raised by TV.. I watched EVERY single show there was.. TNBC,(NBC), TGIF(ABC), WB, oh man! the memories.. i just remembered when Nickelodeon was AWESOME too.. a single tear has been shed ...

  • @GabsCalde cool beans.....IMO the 90's for television broadcasting was the high peak since broadcasting first went on air. The worst shows back in the 90s would be like television gold in today's standard. Somewhere around 2001 the quality of tv shows started to decline. I blame that on the popularity of reality tv shows and awful cop shows like csi. I must say television hit it's peak around 99 and than started to decline to shit around 2000-2001. Good bye good years.

  • @Tr0llsNeverDie YOU GOT IT perfectly right!! it was the evolution of STUPID reality TV. you know what too, and I really dont want to be cheesy AT ALL, but tv shows, specially for teens (young adults), back in the day where so much fun, I mean they really where all COMEDIES with a bit of (corny) drama. Now they are all DRAMAS, really intense dramas, they keep you wanting more but they're not FUNny.... a minute of silence for all of those generations to come who will never experience COOL tv...

  • @Tr0llsNeverDie So true... I miss the 90's! (As, so I've noticed, do the majority of people born around the same time as me (mid 80's)).

  • @FreeSoul90x Oh so sweet! LOL yes I am a Chick.. and Yes I will Marry You! :)

  • @GabsCalde i feel u

  • @TheWondaKidLtd ... that vid made me teary eyed, and on the side, I just noticed how long that intro was. It was sucha a fun song too.

  • @GabsCalde Oh I know...I'm 23 and will be 24 soon...I miss these shows so much they were really the best.

  • @GabsCalde I didn't cry but I feel ya. Lol I'm 28 and feel the same way. TV just isn't the same. I guess the internet, cable and reality explosion has kind of changed the face of network tv. Network tv has always emphasized primetime, but I think thats moreso nowadays. Kids and teens now have to cable networks that cater to their tastes where as the networks made sure to give us TNBC weekends and even tv programs during the weekday. Now network tv is mainly for adults.

  • @GabsCalde you ain't lyin cuz

  • @gropegrape I know right? LOL ;)

  • @GabsCalde totally agree, I'm almost 24 so we share the same memories. Not to mention how nickelodeon has now gone to hell as well. Sad.

  • BRING BACK TNBC!!!!!!!

  • ahh, i use to think this show was called city high. i could never find it until now

  • I was so hooked on this.

We had the best shows, hands down.

  • wow take me back i used to love this show

  • man I used to love Saturday mornings! City Guys, Hang Time., etc.<3<3<3

  • remember one world and skate damn those were when tv was on point!

  • it needs to go on DVD

  • For the longest time I thought I had made this show up in my head.

I could never remember the name :/

  • @bbyola Ha. That's how I feel about any of the great shows from the 90s. TV is so bad today, it's hard to remember what it was like in the 90s.

  • @MissIcia Yeah sometimes I wish I could create my own nostalgia network with stuff from the past. Almost like a Nick at Night but for the 80's-90;s era. The folks who are now in the mid to late 20s

  • I miss these tnbc shows.

  • I use to love watching this every Saturday morning when I was a kid. I wouldn't miss a episode had a crush on Wesley Jonanthan (Black guy)

  • the black dude was always hooking up w/white girls

  • OMG. 98-99 I miis those days.

  • I used to LOVE this show!!

  • they need to re-air this show,at least it was socially conscious unlike the crap they let on air today that encourages stupidity and ignorance... the oc...threesomes [with impressionable children watching] YAY! i mean c'mon, am i right?

  • I agree. At least our generation had those "special episodes" on issues that affected us like peer pressure, sex, etc.

  • did anyone notice the reason why thiis intro is so catchy is because it uses a similar bassline to Naughty By Nature's "Hip Hop Hooray"? ... Anyone agree? shuxx it stuck in my head too !

  • Damn, I didn't even catch that at first but its true.

  • i've had this theme tune in my head for months and could not remember what it was for! haha this show was awesomee!

  • this song should be in a soul caliber game the narrirator can say "his taped fists are stained with the blood of his enemies..." :-p

  • WESLEY JOHNATHAN IS SEXY!!!!!!!

  • YES HE IS!!!! I have had a crush on him since I first saw him on one of the first episodes of Sister Sister....I used to wathc this show faithfully!!!!

  • Wesley is in What I Like About You right now, but he was better in that show than the rest of the WILAY cast after Simon Rex left season 1.
