  • great vid, look forward to watching and learning more

  • Fuck this guy is fast, nice drill. Keep up the good work.

  • alright mate what pads are they ?? cheers

  • so lame

  • i would run if i saw some bitch like that! lol XD

  • I did this Combo in my boxing class today. I love this routine it's a great routine and really good fun. This is my favroute boxing combo I love it a lot. It's good fun and uplifting. Thank you very very much.

  • GREAAAAAAT COMBINATIOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNN

  • Really likes this video. This combo looks really good fun.

  • Haha lol what a joke

  • I'm just wondering, in our gym we just exhale, what is the guy saying when he throws the superman and some of the other stuff? Kinda like Hiiiiyaaah?

  • imagine trying to punch this instructor in a real fight. he will block all you advances then you are gona quit out of sheer exhaustion

  • @richbwoi1, If you actually watched the whole video, then you would understand that he said it's for CARDIO and not fighting.

  • um no ... fail

  • nice fairtex uppercut wall bag i have the same in my gym and nice technique!!

  • cool combination. also nice slow mo demonstration and detail

  • Great video..Cool combination.

    TYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • I really enjoy your break down of the drills. It helps me to focus on my technique before going full speed. Thank you for your insightful vids.

  • whats that damn noise he is making?

  • cool! wow. its like one of those games u play. combo hit! im gonna learn that

  • fake knee?? :DD Or superman punch?! :D

  • footwork is bad for the spinning backfist. needs to turn the lead foot, like for a spinning hook kick. you can turn the lead foot while you close with the hook.

still, really appreciate the post. as a hermit boxer (nearest gym is 50 mi away) its nice to see what other people are up to

  • he needs to spin his hips more when he dose the backfist, then he'll get a louder hit/ more powerful punch :)

  • @TheReich88 You seem to be making a lot of assumptions my friend? You don't know me or my staff & make public comments (which we're all entitled to, no prob) but I never make any claims to be a great instructor, I let my students make their own minds up on that, plus the many 'great' martial artists that I've trained alongside & competed against, their opinion of me & respect they have for my teaching is what counts, if you knew me you'd know I'm very humble & ALWAYS looking to better myself

  • watched a lot of david breed stuff, just another self proclaimed fighting arts expert, no different from all the others. Martial arts is a personal journey and not a platform to show how big our egos are, just train and get on with it. the best of us train and stay humble rather than play the Great Instructor who know it all, well you dont but you are vain david. but to those who find you helpul good luck and to those who no better just smile

  • This is good, I will try this out and check out your other videos. I like it because it is not just a couple hit combo, the coordination, memorization and everything like you said, is good for training. Thanks!!

  • hi, um wat is the whole purpose or advantage on the jumping punch

  • @97hokage The jumping punch is really used to either cover distance or to 'fake' a low kick/knee to get the opponent to react to the low shot the draw the leg back fast and punch over the top, we use it in many different ways, throw a low kick get them to react then fake the low kick and punch over the top, basic attack but very effective

  • What arts does your school host?

  • @Ronnock Hi, we teach muay thai/kickboxing and Mixed martial arts

    best regards

    Dave

  • @DavidBreed Oh, ok. Cool. Thank you.

  • Cant see the footwork, isnt backfist illegal in boxing?

    Somewhat slow defense recovery

  • @demonangels67 It is in western boxing, but not in Thai/kickboxing or freestyle competition so thats why we train it, it can be surprise shot especially off a missed hook, you can strike with the back of the fist or the forearm

  • @DavidBreed Is It a very effective way to prevent a counter-punch off missed hook? And can i recover defense very swiftly?

  • @demonangels67 Hi it can be as it can take people by surprise, plus it can act as a 'half beat' technique, an insert that can break up the opponents timing, to recover defense you can 'go into the backfist' and cover your face before you continue

  • @demonangels67 this isnt boxing its bloody annoying when people cant be bothered tagging theyre videos properly

  • Love the pad drills. Keep them coming!

  • Thanks for the post awesome cardio workout now if I only I can keep this up for 3 minutes of full speed and power

  • looks great but i cant see the footwork

  • excellent drill. Going to add it to my cardio routine next time i work out.

  • Holy crap that kid is good, I hope he's still fighting

  • This would work in application. Like something out of Tekken

  • thats sooooo nice, when he changes from the fake knee, to the flying punch. he sounds like a street fighter, or tekken character.

  • wow

  • very good use of the back fist. I use it a lot in my drills. I wish people would use it more as it is a very underrated technique.

My favourite is to come up to a back fist on the bridge of the nose after the hook punch, been doin that for year. Keep up the good work

  • the hammer punch, the third of the combination, is rubish because he does it without using his weight

  • @mikeletanatxo Sometimes when you try to transfer you weight into the backfist you over commit, in this drill its more of an insert technique to set up a harder shot behind it, why call his strike 'rubbish' can't you make a more constructive comment?

  • @DavidBreed Do you want a constructive comment?? I hit harder when I move my dick upside down. If you do not use your weight while hitting you should not use that move because it will only touch your opponent without hurting him. I was not joking, You only have to see the replay.

  • @DavidBreed HAHA at buddy talking about your student not putting his weight into it, the velocity at which he is throwing and the weight of his arm alone would be enough to flatten 99% people right out. The biggest problem is landing them accurately with a moving opponent. John Makdessi faked a kick to freeze Kyle Watson so he could place his and was one of my fav KO's. This is a new drill to me, Thanks for the upload. I just noticed that you uploaded it in 08, took me a bit to find this one

  • i never been much for spinning moves or jumping ones but that was a very good drill.

  • hey man great drill I'm gonna try this today especially like the back fists and the spin hit

  • I really don't understand why someone would write such a thing? Is this what people have become?

  • @DavidBreed don't worry about what people say this is a really great drill keep up the good work.

  • Thanks for your kind comment, what my earlier comment was about, was that someone posted something that wasn't really criticism about the drill but it was the way they put it across, I have my junior students watch these drills and what they put was simply disgusting, they have removed their comments and I thank them for doing so.

  • Those backfists are an excellent part of the combo. Very effective and deceptive strikes.

  • Yeah the drill is great, but the dude is definitely exposing his chin when he punches. That would be like a free gift if I was sparring him.

  • Chin down my friend. Your doing what I call "The Cholo" thing, in lifting your chin in the air when you start punching. Keep that sucker tucked at all time. It's a great workout drill you guys have. I'm not trying to knock it in anyway, just the chin. Great work.

  • @ dbnoho ROFL at "The Cholo" thing. Now that I think about it, I see what you mean... I've never seen a fight with "the cholo" having his chin anywhere but sky high xD

  • that dude is a monster

  • wow sensational, mad skills too. I'm definately going to try to learn the whole thing, and use the straight right, backfist, spinning backfist as a combo. That's deadly. Backfist always my favorite, wether spinned, hammered whatever it's sensational and less risk of breaking hand

  • I would hate to face this guy in a real fight.

  • golpes de robot

  • nice drill, can't wait to try it

  • not bad

  • I just want to say this kid looks solid. Great technique, speed and power. I can tell you guys are the real deal.

    Salute,

    Michael Miller

  • Most of you people apparently don't watch the full video before you post. The instructor clearly says at the end, that these drill are for cardio and technique purposes and not necessarily for the ring. WATCH and then POST.

  • Machine!!

  • You do drills like this until it becomes a matter of muscle memory. Most combos are only 2 or 3 strikes and a trained boxer knows this, if you train to throw more punches than what most expect, you disrupt your opponants rhythm and gain control of the fight.

  • pretty cool what kind of martial art is this?

  • wtf thats just weird or maybe he's using to much strenth cuz when he attacks he makes really weird sounds like and animal lol

  • its called breathing, before u make an attack, u breath, n then wen its about to hit, u let it go for more power, trust me theres a difference.

  • thats not illegal in a street fight.. that would be BRUTAL! espically the hammer fist back.. OUCH

  • your boy looks class on here,

  • Beautifully done. Thanks.

  • Excellent! Thank you!

  • back fists are legal in MMA

  • never seen anyone using it! Don't know its practicality!

  • It's a drill. Like kata or chi sao, they r drills. No one step into a ring or street fight to start doing a full kata.

Use whats applicable from the drill in apllicable scenario.

  • Different training techniqes for different applications.

  • Is this a legal punch in boxing?

  • Awesome pad work and great combinations {^_^}

  • good stuff thanks for sharing

    salute
