His "country" and "blues" playing on the Loads is the same fucking thing as his hard rock playing, with a couple different cymbals.

@antonio610 The reason Lara is overated is because he is a Badass.. He was the only actualy drummer who wasnt scared of changing his styles and he can actually play more genres than any drummer you will probably say is better.

@antonio610 You have never played drums before huh? Different genres have different rhythms which its not the same in different speeds. You need to know what to hit next... He can play metal, punk, thrash, hard rock, jazz, blues, country... If you are a famous musician you do what you love, and lars loves drums, so he does it in all ways. If you dont like it just shut up and leave, simple as that

@MIKEYEKIMIKEY Thrash and punk are exactly the same fucking thing on drums, leave or take a little more double-bass and tom work, which Lars doesn't fucking do anymore. Hard rock as interpreted by Lars is variations on basic rock patterns which I learned in my first month as a drum student. Lars has never played jazz in his life. His "country" and "blues" playing on the Loads is the same fucking thing as his hard rock playing, with a couple different cymbals.

@antonio610 Hey dude, just shut up and get out of here.. I learned fast arpeggios and tap guitar on my first month and I dont go on every guitarist saying, that they suck because I learned it... You have a stupid argument, jsut because you leanred it doesnt mean you are a fucking master... I learned those variations on drums too on the first 3 days, and I have 2 years playing, but whenever you try to play like lars, you sound like you are rehearsing instead of sounding like if you can do it

Either that or you want some recommendations on some new, less obvious metal to listen to. Check out Death, Dream Theater, Slayer, Pantera, Tool, In Flames, Anthrax... They're pretty cool and relatively accessible before you move into some more extreme stuff.

@MIKEYEKIMIKEY I'm just saying Lars has no upper body and lower body seperation like the best drummers out there. He can play quickly yes, but that's just like joey jordison, not much skill but alot of speed, honestly to me the most technical drummers out there are danny Carey and Mike Portnoy (I don't like portnoy though, I just respect his skills) and once again I have the upmost respect for metallica, I think they've just gotten alot worse and that lars is overrated
