With Kobe weakened, the Lakers were no match for Sacramento(he was the leading playoff scorer for the Lakers against the Kings between '00-'02, until Game 2 of the WCF). Kobe's situation left the Lakers in a bad way and they still were in it, then Game 5 comes along, Kobe is looking better, but Shaq is awarded only 1 FT for his efforts.

do you guys not even realize the kings shot more FT's this series than the Lakers? yes, the referee admitted to fixing a couple of games in which the Lakers probably would have lost. but if you look at the other games as well other than game 6, most of the calls were favored in the Kings behalf...this incredible run of the video you posted is not the ref's doing, it's the Kings falling apart and like what @thulium said it was awful execution. Kings still won this game.

You know why this run happened? Adelman had played about 6 players the entire game up to this point(Pollard finished w/ 7 min). They were mentally and physically drained, that hurt them in the fourth here, and it caught up with them again in Gm 4.

If this run doesn't happen, the Kings would have completed a Game 3 where the loudest cheers were heard in the warmups. Winning by 30 would have demoralized LA with a weakened Kobe, but the Kings didn't have that killer instinct. This gave LA life.

@052307A Nah, they still had 2 or 3 good or really good seasons, but like 2002, they lost in 7 game series. In 2003 they lost to the Mavs in 7 and in 2004 they lost to the T-Wolves in 7. All three of these 7 game series were pick em' series. They still made the playoffs in 2005 and 2006, and considering they had so many players leave and new players arriving, they did pretty well to be competitive, especially in 2006 against the Spurs.
