@rednecklowlife Actually, some of the earliest rap comes from the late 1970s. Rap was pretty well established by1986. Check out Rapper's delight by The Sugarhill Gang from 1979, that samples Good Times by Chic.
I grew up on this group...only rap group i like...My dad who was in the Air Force went over to Saudi Arabia and brought all these tapes *80's* for .50 cts a piece...I listen to it.....I like it,,,,, MIND you I was 13 thru 16 yrs old....HEHEHE 38 now....Love bringing up my old roots sometimes LOL
"She's Crafty", is a jam from the debut album/cassette/disc of the amazing Beastie Boys, "Licensce To Ill", which had everyone "Fighting For Their Right To Party", a great group of guys.
For the life of me, i can't understand why people with desktop production alleged company. Would claim this still picture and song as their own production.
Love it, I have all the old farts at work givingn crafty nicknames to the office chicks we "service" for computer repair is what I'm talking about. Wink
In 1986, people still listened to cassette tapes and sometimes even records/vinyl. My older sister was 17, I was 13; she brought this home one day...she had it on vinyl. This album was so friggin' awesome. So much fun. People used to bring their boomboxes to school and we'd jam out to it in the hallways.
@sanjurodog My Mom's friend went to the record store the year this came out and asked, "What's the best album to buy my daughter, I wanna get her something new and cool." The clerk sold her this album. My friend loved it, lent it to me, I loved it, I lent it to another friend, he loved it. That clerk made 3 brand spanking new lifelong Beastie Boys' fans with that one recommendation. Thanks clerk, and, thanks to my friend's Mom. Awesome.
