  • I was told by the sales lady who works for Chanel that all of their foundations are yellow based, none are pink based.

I was given a few samples of Pro Lumiere but it really looked awful on my complexion. Perhaps due to the yellow based nature of the product? Or how it oxidized on my skin?

  • Is it good for pictures?

  • @gbritto98 yes it is beautiful

  • Anyone know how long one bottle lasts? For the price I hope it's significant.

  • @DoYouLilacIt430 it lasts a long while! You dont need much of it to cover

  • You might want to vet

  • your skin looks amazinggg !! does this foundation last all day though ? and does it smoothen the skin ? i have very dry skin and have a few spots..when ive used foundations like clarins ever lasting u can still see the bumps in my skin..estee lauder double wear however really makes the skin look smooth however is abit drying and doesnt give that glow !!! will pro lumiere give that glow, last all day & make my skin look smooth ?

  • @rochee77 it does not last all day, but for the short time it lasts the finish is amazing! I would suggest mixing something like pro w the EL for staying power!

  • @Lisasz09 mixng what with it sorry ??

  • @rochee77 mixing pro lumiere with estee lauder double wear

  • Have you tried Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation? And which one do you like better: the Pro Lumiere or Estee Lauder Double wear light. If they even are comparable? If I have moisturized my skin then it is combination skin. I mean my skin ( mostly t-zone) gets a little shiny without a powder after some hours but I think it's normal. I don't know which of the three to choose. Laura Mercier isn't actually sold where I live so that is tricky.

  • @ggrrish I would suggest the estee lauder double wear or the light one- the pro lumiere is being discontinued and changed and I am not sure about how the new one will work- plus it doesnt stay very well on the oily areas. I have not tried the LM silk one yet- so I cant compare that one- sorry

  • @Lisasz09 Is the light one medium to full coverage also? I think I just have to get samples of them both :) Thank you SOOOO much ! :)

  • @ggrrish yes it is and it blends a bit easier than the reg one but the reg one is more coverage!

  • why Korres products are so expensive in America???here in Greece they are cheaaaap.....and it is pronounced Korr*e*s.

  • @shadoobie16 I dont really know their color line well enough to tell, but I would suggest to put a swatch on at your neckline and go out in the sun with a mirror and see if it matches!

  • According to you, which foundation is better chanel pro lumiere foundation or mac studio tech?Thank you

  • @TheVasoula25 chanel pro lumiere

  • i dnt know which one to buy pro lumiere or vitalumiere which one would u reccomend in dry skin and i am only 15 so ????? and does it look good in daylight????????????

  • @prasana97 dry skin I would say vita- it looks good but be sure to really blend it in

  • Nevertheless, your reviews are always enjoyable. One of the best gurus here on YouTube, in my opinion!

    : )

  • Pronounced "Loo-Me-Yair," not "Loo-mah-Neer."

    Again, "LOO-ME-YAIR!"

  • how's the staying power?

  • @vickychan0008 decent but not great!

  • when it comes to foundations, what's better?

    Chanel, guerlain, Dior or YSL?

  • @iApplefreakk I like teh guerlain or Bobbi brown best!

  • do you set it with powder? and does the foundation last all day? hope to hear from you soon:) Thanks!

  • @yhpark0706 yes I do and it lasts in the winter for me not in the summer heat

  • Lisa I tired the mat lumire and it did nothing to my skin. Is the pro still mat but gives a finished look? Oh are the shades the same in each one? Am Clair in mat would I be cameo in pro?

  • @Norms3000 the pro is dewey finish- the shades are different by type! :o(

  • Great foundation!!!

  • Well, I picked this up yesterday, (in the UK) for just under £30. I have to say, I'm disappointed. It isn't the first time, either, "makeup gurus" have suggested something which is just plain aweful! I picked the shade 'clair' It's a horrible shade (too much yellow in it for any skin tone!) it lasts for about two hours, smells - not great. Eccentuates evey wrinke in my skin (and I don't have many before it goes on) I would not recommend this, I want my Clinique repairwear back. IT'S FAR BETTER!

  • do you know if it contains any oil ???

  • @micyy2 I am not sure- sorry

  • have you tried Sue Devitt

    70% Triple Seaweed Gel Foundation?

  • @angelweengz1 I have not even heard of it yet!

  • How long does this foundation last? All day? Does it easily come off if you sweat a bit?

  • @sassyct666 it is not super long wearing and it does wear off easily

  • you look absolutly stuning, this foundation gives u natural glow.

  • @summertums I dont have any issues with it- although sometimes it can look like you are wearing foundation if you apply to much!

  • is the pro long lasting?? how long does it last does it need touch up during the day ? my skin is somewhat dry

  • @yinoxiasini it is great for dry skin- how it lasts depends on your skin!

  • Which one out of all your foundations work best for dry skin?

  • @mirditacookies this one is great for dry skin! also dior nude is also and MUFE HD!

  • @fishzero101

Chantecaille is a high-end brand for skincare and cosmetics. It is expensive. The price range of their foundations is about $68-62. In Canada, they are only sold in Holt Renfrew.

You can check their website for their locations.

  • @fishzero101 Thanks I will take a look!

  • Hi Liza:-) I have owned Armani Luminous and tried Nars Sheer Glow, and both products highlighted my dry patches. Would u recommend the Chanel pro lumiere foundation for dry skin ? Im looking for a medium coverage, light weight and natural looking foundation. My T-zone area is a bit only, but the area around my nose is kinda dry.

Have u ever tried Chanteceilla products? I've heard that their cosmetic products are amazing but a little too pricy for me;-(

  • @fishzero101 yes the pro lumiere is a great one for dry skin! I have not heard of Chaneteceilla- where are they sold?

  • Thank You for the video!Ive been thiking about trying this out.

Does anyone know if it works with dry skin?

    Thank You!

  • @misscockycunt yes it works great for dry skin!

  • @Lisasz09 Thank You for being nice enough to reply :)

  • Can u tell me the difference between the dior forever and the chanel pro lumiere

  • @chouasuzyyang The dior forever is a more matte finish and is water resistant and the pro is a more dewey finish- both have gerat coverage though!

  • Hi Lisa,

How would you compare this with NARS Sheer Glow? Which one do you like better and why? Also, how is it for oily skin? Thanks!

  • @kitz123 NARS is better for oilyskin- the chanel doesnt stay on as well on a hot day!

  • How would you compare this to your NARS Sheer Glow? Which one do you like better and why? How is it for oily skin?

  • Hi Lisa.

Do you know if there are darker shades like into the NW 45 anad higher in mac shades?

  • @amazingb92 Hi there- I am not sure how big the color line it- you can search it on thier website though!

  • Hi, Lisa have you tried DiorSkin AirFlash Spray Foundation

  • @393starlight I have not tried it! Sorry!

  • Hi Lisa have you tried theDiorSkin AirFlash Spray Foundation? if so, what do you think of it?

  • you spelt it right.... but you don't say it right.... LUMIERE.... there's no N

  • Hi, Lisa! Thanks for the video. How long does this foundation last? All founations I've tried looked really bad after 2 hours.

  • @CatSchmid this one lasts 6-8 hrs on me with a primer! Primer is key with these foundations!

  • I've been dieing to try this foundation. I live in Canada, so it's a little bit trickier to find in a department store but my main question is about transfer. I've tried many different foundations and found that the color sometimes rubs off on the collar of my jacket, or gets on the shoulder of my boyfriends shirt if I hug him... I find it happens most with Creme to Powder foundations, but I was wondering if you noticed it doing this.

  • @Hotpinksoda yes this does transfer! keep in mind in order to reduce transfer you should use a transparent powder! Sheseido sun protection and MUFE matte velvet + are the 2 I found that dont transfer!

  • @Lisasz09

Mhm! I've tried the powder, and it does help to really set the make up and it doesn't transfer as much. Thank you for the suggestions! I will try them out!

  • where can I buy it? and am i supposed to get my foundation a lighter color than my foundation or the same??

  • @greendiamond12 I purchase it at the counter in macys or nordstorms- they can color match you there! :o)

  • ok so i got the matte lumiere..i like it,.....however it has a kinda funny smell, like a remedy type smell, also is very watery is that normal?....im asking cause i got it on ebay :s

  • @acarolc27 I dont own the matte one but the pro one does have a distinct smell to it!

  • I have very dry skin so which one of them would be good to use mat or pro lumiere? as well as do u need a primer before applying the foundation if u have dry skin

  • @28armeen I think the Pro would be best! it is supposed to have a primer built in, but I still use a primer- it is your choice! :o)

  • I like your review. I have the chanel pro luminiere foundation and its great. I just got the Korres foundaton yesterday and i'm dying to use it. MAC breaks me out so bad and so fast, within 2 days. Your review was very helpful =)

  • @Selinityification probably a few months- depending on how much you use each time. I use about 1-2 pumps and it can last me using it daily a few months! :o)

  • Is it long lasting and no transfer? thanks.

  • @contas08 it has a good lasting power with a good primer- it does transfer though!

  • HI Lisa! Do you think this will cover red veins? I need to cover a lot but dont wanna look so ,,makeuped,,LOL if you know what i mean! For some reason my couperose ( not rosacea) always shows up and i dont like to put layer on layer yak!And do you set it with a powder? Its 40 euro here in spain so a little to expensive to just try it once, and they dont give samples!!!

  • yes it is a full coverage foundation- it needs to be buffed in well though or it will look cakey! I do set it because I like a more matte finish! :o) I hope that helps!

  • how this foundation compared to nars sheer glow?

  • it is more coverage and it is more dewey! :o)

  • do you still like it?...wear it?...i have really oily skin and cant find a foundation that doesnt make loo soo shiny not even an hour after i apply it!

  • yes i do love it still! I think if you are really oily (I am combo) the key is getting a good matte primer- Murad Oil control and Sephora Matte primers are great! then apply either this one (but if you are really oily the matte one would be better) or the Sheseido Sun protection or the NARS Matte Glow

  • thanks, i got a sample of the matte glow (NARS) and i was kinda dissapointed, but i think it was the wrong color...but i was still kinda oily, i guess im so stressed by my oily skin that i want a pure matte finish, thanks for the advice ill definetly try the sephora primer and the chanel pro, if i can get my hands on a sample...i always like to try it out before i buy...bad experiences and wasted money in my past :) thank you for replying!!!!

  • I hope it works out- let me know! :o)

  • what is it's staying power?

  • with a setting powder I would say a good 8-10 hours

  • is it good for oily skin?

  • yes with a matte primer and a setting powder! :o)

  • That review is great, but I just can't stop laughing about "LumiNere", sorry can't help it! Still, 5 stars!

  • Wow Lisa, you look so lovely in this video. :)

  • u explain realli well...

Hope a person like u would go shopping wit me

Sob sob..i m like kinda lost when i go shopping for Make up and foundation...

I dun noe which one to buy.. :(

Now I am confused if i buy Dior NUDE or Channel Pro ...

  • i think that if u're skin is dry go and buy the Dior skin nude but if u're skin is normal to combination go for the pro lumiere...

  • they are very similar, so either would work- Dior is water based though so it is good for any skin type! :o0

  • what shade are you in mac in this video??

  • i think i was 35 here!

  • what shade are you in pro lumiere?

  • right now I am #30!

  • your videos are always so good. if I'm curious about a foundation I know where to look for a review. You always seem to review just what I am curious about!

  • Love all your videos.

New to the makeup world. LOL

Wanted to know how many foundation one should have?

    I have oily combo skin.

Please let me know when you can.

  • you really only need one foundation unless you collect makeup! :oP

  • do u kno if it is oil free ? nd do u have oily skin ... does it make u oily ???

  • I dont think it is oil free! I have combo skin- if I use this I use Murad oil control first and it works great!

  • The website says its oil free. I really want to try this! Does anyone know if it transfers?

  • the pro lumiere is oil free, thats how official chanel website describes it- This foundation provides you effortless perfection with professional looking results. This breakthrough oil-free formula imparts an unprecedented semi-matte finish that can be blended for a soft, natural look or built up for greater sophistication. i use pro lumiere and i have a combination skin, but if you have oily skin i think its conna make you look oilier

  • I brought one a mth ago and for reason it sets instantly as soon as it touches my skin like glue it has to be faulty worked well but now had it.

  • I want to try this so bad! It looks so amazing. Juicytuesday recommended it and I believe both of you. It looks nice on both of you!

  • thx u so much i must buy this its great n have a nice day to yu

  • i had a chanel foundation, can't remember which one, but i didn't like it because it transferred too much on whatever touched my face...i had orangie shadows on my shirts, not to mention the tissues to blot me!

    TOO much!!

does this one to that to you?

    or anybody else??

  • i just got this and love love love it as well! i wasn't going to use it for every day but now i just have to! =]

  • I have the Korres foundation & I'm not extremely happy!Makes my face shine!!! after 1 hour... :(

  • im an n30 in mac studio fix what shade of this would you recomend for me? it looks great on you

  • I would get color matched to be sure but i would guess you can wear the same color as i am- 76! :o)

  • i'm using the dior nude at the moment but i think it's more of a light-medium coverage foundation.. do you think the pro lumiere would cover acne scars better than the dior nude?

  • Pro lumiere is not a good foundation for someone with Acne- i would suggest the Dior forever or teh Girgio Armani! I hope this helps you!

  • what if i just have acne scars?

do you think it's not good for someone with acne because it gives a dewy effect?

  • I think the dewey part would accentuate the scars!

  • oh alright thanks.. because i use dior nude right now and it works just fine!

  • is this product suitable for acne?

  • no i think it may be to heavy and slipery- it doesnt stay very well if you have oily skin! I like Dior forever or Sheiseido sun protection liquid for coverage. Good Luck!

  • Have you tried the Chanel setting powder? I'm trying to find a good shine control setting powder and don't know if Chanel's would be better than MAC's or MUFE'S.

  • I have nt yet tried their setting powder!

  • i've had pro lumiere for a while now and to be honest i dont really wear it anymore bc i cannot get it to stay all day. i've used primers and powders i was just wondering what you did to keep it on longer?

    thanks so much!! :-)

  • I use teh Murad oil control mattifier and it stays on all day that way! :o)

  • Hey Lisa it's me again.

I was wondering also if you could use the MAC fix+ before and after to set this foundation?

Also I purchased the strobe cream and its really nice, so could I use that too?

    Thanks!

  • I use my strobe lotion with my thicker foundations! I think with the Pro it would make it a lighter coverage! I do use fix plus a lot after my powder to set everything! :o) ENjoy!

  • I don't believe you touched on this in your video, but would you consider it long wearing? I use revlon color stay and it last all day. However I want to try something nicer but that is still long wearing.

  • i find it long wearing with a primer- without no it doesnt stay well! :o(

  • You look so cute here!

  • Hey Lisa,

I watch alot of your videos and I think your very helpful! I was wondering about the Pro Lumiere, if its really good. I have natural red cheeks and when I use MACs satinfinish foundation, I feel like it doesnt cover it all the way. I Had to apply alot to get it to semi cover it. So would this foundation due the trick? I love dewy looks so it sounds like a nice foundation.

Also could I apply this with my 187 brush.

    Thanks!

  • Yes this would be a great foundation for this! Let me know how it works for you! :o) ENjoy!

  • Hi your review is really helpful, going to get the Pro Lumiere for the weekend! Would you get a shade to match your skin tone and put blusher and bronzer or if you wear fake tan would you get a darker colour to match the fake tan??

  • HI Lisa, have you tired Lift lumiere IT AMAZING it make your skin look wonderful ?

  • I have not tried it yet! I have to use up what I have frist! or atleast put a dent in it! :o)

  • Well If you get the chance try it I am impressed and you got me into chanel thanks to your great reviews. I got some samples from chanel tried matt, pro and vit and lift and found I like that the most so pleased with the results , AIR BRUSHED beautful :>)

  • hmm this product sits in my pores like crazy!! and it is kind of gone after a four hours.. :(

  • oh that is a shame! I do thnk that a good primer is key in making this work! :o(

  • oke. what do you think is an all around good primer?

  • I like MAC Prep and Prime spf 50 and I am not liking the Murad Oil Control Mattifying cream! :o)

  • thanks!

  • you may try also lancome la base pro primer,it is impressive..

  • you wrote lumiere, but why you're saying it luminere?

  • yeah I do that sometimes- it is lumiere

  • Hi! I have this foundation and love the colour and coverage, but it just seems to slide off my face. Can you recommed a primer to go under it, I have an oily T-zone with open pores on my nose Thanks so much

  • what primer are you using? i find that it seems to work best for me with the MAC prep and prime spf50- I have tried others and that does happen, but it doesnt seem to happen with the MAC SPF50! :o) Good luck!

  • do you like this more than the dior nude foundation? is it as dewy? and which chanel foundation is best for dry skin? Thanks so much!:)

  • I prefer my dior nude personally a slight bit more! It is dewey and a great coverage! I think the vitalumiere is the best for dry skin! Enjoy! :o)

  • I just bought chanel double perfection matte powder and I'm loving it! It gives great coverage and feels very light on my skin. Have you tried their powders??

  • wow- I have not tried that I might have to look in to it! Thanks for the tip!

  • is your skin totally matte right now or is it still oily ?

or do you have a dry skin ?

  • Thank U so much for your fast response sweetheart ... I will def give the Vita Lumiere a try :-)

  • aww thanks- I hope you like teh vita lumiere! Let me know! :o)

  • Hi Lisa :-) I want my sking to glow and show through the foundation. Im kind of confuse...Out of the 3 chanel 1's, which one u think will help me achieve a dewy, glow-eyyy natural look?...Thanks...Hugs from NYC!

  • of the chanel I think the vita lumiere would probably be the best fory ou- i think it is the least coverage (so your skin will show through) :o) Enjoy!

  • great review!i had heard that the chanel foundations r great too.i have difficulty finding foundation, because i'm a somalian girl and i have really really oily skin!i have tried using mac studio fix fluid, MUFE and it seems like nothing works.MUFE didn't have my skin colour, and mac made me break out, which sucks.lol. do u by any chance have any recomendations for foundation?? thanks a lot.

  • You can try smashbox HD- much better than MUFE. Chanel has great skin options and colors. Dior is another brand- they dont have as many colors, but each collection is different! I hope you find one you like! Enjoy! :o)

  • Thank you soo much for replying!ur a sweetheart.i will def check out smashbox HD;I just watched one of your videos and u had said that smashbox was one of ur faves!i'll also check out chanel!

    again thnx!

  • I hope you really like the Smashbox or chanel! Let me knwo what works best for you! :o)

  • i have the most difficult time finding foundation..used mac, makeup forever,nars..laura mercier...just give up for now...i have dry skin, med tone..i want a glow finish, med coverage but i used all the above and nothing has done so...any suggestions???

  • Have you tried the Dior nude or the chanel pro lumiere- they have great coverage but a dewey finish- or if you like mac the new studio sculpt one is geat too- it has shea butter in it which is great for dry skin! I hope these help you! :o)

  • Hi, I've never used any kind of foundation or powder before, but am thinking that I should start! Problem is, I don't know which to buy. I'm looking for something which is easy to use. Is there any 2-in-1 powder / 2-way cake (not sure what you call it) from Chanel? I don't want to go throught the hassle of having to apply the foundation first and the powder after that.

  • I think the best thing to start with is the MAC Mineralized Skinfinish- it is a powder but gives the result of a liquid! Enjoy! :o)

  • This foundation has a tendency to tranfer, oily areas need blotting after 2-3 hours, feels heavy on.

Verdict: Upon application, it is just "Wow"! But it is all downhill after that. The "wow" effect does not stay long, and you end up with a foundation mess at the end of the day, or almost no foundation in some places (it depends on the day!).....It performs better that the average semi matte foundation, but for a pricey, high-end foundation, I expect way more than that.....Never again!

  • that is a shame! I am sorry it didnt work for you! :o( Thanks for sharing your experience! :o)

  • Hi Lisa, i bought the matt lumiere yesterday, which brush do you use to apply the pro lumiere. Thanks x

  • I use my 190 for my pro! :o) Let me knwo what you think of the matte! I have heard mixed results! :o)

  • Well i bought the foundation on Tuesday and so far i am liking it, was hoping for a little more coverage so maybe i should have got the pro but still a good foundation. I also bought the bronze universal as every one loves it but no me lol, it looks very orange on me, did it take you a while to get used to applying the bronzer. Will keep you updated about Matt Lumiere x

  • good to know I like a more full coverage so I think I will stick with my pro! It did take a bit to get used to the bronze universal! I find it needs a buffing brush to look supper smooth! :o)

  • I have oily skin, will this work?

And do you use Chanels setting powder?

    Thank You

  • I have combo skin and it works great! You might want to look in to the matt lumiere just in case! I dont use their powder- I stick with my MAC MSF Natural powder! :o) Enjoy whatever you get!

  • Hi lisa, just wondering i wear korres wild rose foundation in wrf1,i wanted to try chanel pro lumiere do u think the color 20 would work please help!!!thanx

  • unfortunetly I do not knwo how chanel colors run at all- I had to go in and color matched because I dont get their color spectrum! you shoudl go to a counter to make sure you get the right color! Good Luck sorry I couldnt help more!

  • How does it feel when you apply it? Like, do you have to put ina lot of effort to blend into your skin, does it leave a smooth finish, does it fel heavy/light?

For me personally, I find the studio fix fluid is drying, leaving a chalky finish - maybe I'm using it wrong, I don't know - but I don't like it!

    Thanks :)

  • it goes on supper smooth! :o) It doesnt take much effort to blend it in! :o) It feels light and leaves a dewey finish! SFF is very drying this is nothing like that! :o) I hope this helps you! Good luck!

  • what shade do you use? do you go tanning?

  • It says #76 Soft Bisque Intensity 2.5 I hope this helps! :o) I do not go tanning ever I use self tanners- skin cancer runs in my family! :o(

  • hey this is soo amazing, i am from the philippines and they already discontinued this PRO LUMIERE THING!!! HAHA!!! but they replaced it with the LIFT LUMIERE FOUNDATION si i'll go ahead and give it a try!! thanks for your video, really enjoyed it!!! :p

  • wow- that didnt last long! :o( I have however heard great things about teh Lift lumiere though! I hope you like it! :o)

  • Hi Lisa, im considering buying the matt lumiere as i have oily skin but i dont like my face being too mat. Do you think the pro lumiere would get oily on the skin. How long do you find that the foundation lasts on the face.

  • I do not own teh Matt Lumiere yet but I am considering buying it soon. I have combo skin and I love love love the pro lumiere! It gives great coverage and a nice dewey finish that doesnt look oily, but I have heard tha
