  • Thank you so much for posting this !

  • So I get most of the themes, but what does the title mean? I kinda get it but not that much

  • I'd have to agree with HeapsGoodProductions tú erés muy bonita :)

  • I wish you were my teacher =P

  • These are not the only themes actually. There is the theme of loss of innocence and growing up. This is depicted from he time changes from summer to summer. The main quote being " it's kind of like killing a mockingbird. Right?" shows how scout has grown up over the years and how this new understanding of evil in the world is so horrible to her. The themes that were mentioned in this video are not the main themes here.

  • @nicolepricetag Growing up is in the video, though maybe not as detailed as it could be.

Loss of innocence is one of the sub-themes of that, and is under change.

This is more an overview than anything else to me.

Race and racism IS a main theme, as it relates to the 'Mockingbird' theme that is one of the driving forces of the 'Growing Up' theme.

  • I read the book (loved it) but am watching this to make sure im not failing the test ;D

  • I haVe A question, what force of innocence ends up being more powerful than that of violence?

  • @thejokerlovar eNotes has answered this question. Go to enotes.com and search for To Kill a Mockinbird. It's in the Q&A area.

  • thank you very very much

  • this is very helpful.

  • I have to read this book over this summer, and do a report on it. Its for my 9th grade honors english class. For everyone reading, what age are you and having to read this?

  • @sara2et im also in 9th grade and its due monday for me because i didnt do it over the summer

  • got a test just saved me 2 hours of reading thnx!

  • you're picking topics, not themes. dig a little deeper and you'll hit paydirt.

  • @TenSeconds01 agreed. I believe I can make a better video... :/ not trying to be offense just stating the facts. Don't have the time though.

  • You're stating the obvious. The major theme of TKAM is fear. Not so much fear in regard to justice etc... but fear of the unknown (Boo, Tom Robinson, Aftrican American culture) that ironically poses little harm, while the court system and the makers of justice who people expect to protect them from what they fear end up harming the innocent Tom Robinson and would most likely do damage to Boo Radley if the shreriff told the truth.

  • thank you guys so much this helps me under stand the book alot more.

  • @0HollyHood0 i love that book

  • have u guys read to kill a cummingbird?

  • Great videos for use in my English class prior to the end of book test. However, I believe the speaker's choice of outfit was unprofessional and distracting for my teenage students..

  • @suzanneupdyke your right, the only themes I saw was cleavage or in her case chest. Where is the justice in that?lol

  • @suzanneupdyke @kuongjah7

I found this very helpful as part of my GCSE revision and I feel, even as a sixteen year old boy, that anyone who would find the speaker's outfit provocative is being silly.

  • Sweet thanks

    its such a good book

ionly read it this term and its sick!

  • have u guys read to kill a fucken bird?

  • thank you for the video!!

  • you guys saved me!
