sharecroppers dude. that's what this song is about.  my grandparents did this for a living in TN. the bosses would have rifles to make sure nobody would take any of the crops. anybody who has had relatives who have done this for a "living" during the depression feel this song intensely.

@JRudolph86 He literally can't see very well - he's working from before the sunrise until after the sunset, so it's dark when he's finally able to take a look around. 'Get lost' could be taken any number of ways, figuratively not literally.

I saw them on the 23rd of July and the concert was so good that I almost don't want to listen to the studio version of the songs anymore because that doesn't do this band justice. They played this song as an encore and it was INSANELY awesome. It was a nice calm down song from all the high sping fiddlin and banjo pluckin.
