@MaddDogg81 nope that is the JDM fd2 type-R. they do share bodies(the type-R is modelled on the acura csx, and is the first honda that is based of an acura and not the other way around) but the csx type-S has the same k20z3 engine as the US Honda civic Si 06-11. so the Acura CSX type-S is a sort of a mix.

@anudude Yeah, the 3rd Generation Type Rs are based on the 8th Generation civics (which run from 2006-2011), the same basic bodywork exists for those years (with a slight update in 2009). Later this year the new 9th Generation Civic (new body design for 2012 and on) will come out, and we'll have new Type Rs as well.

@Funeral4aFan: Well, your right a rear spoiler will push down the back, but it's good for all four wheels to grip on any car whether it's a FWD, AWD or RWD car. When cars start going faster they start to lift a little thus lessening tire grip. So they don't put the spoiler on the back for shear looks, it's to keep the rear wheels well gripped at speed, yet the actual size i'm pretty sure is a style thing.

Yep. it's a Honda. That can be fixed. The good thing, is that there is no monster rear wing. In a FWD car, the rear tires are there for balance. You don't need them for grip.

I live in the US and I have an Si. I think we deserve the japanese type-r but in britain's body style. Or, JUST BRING THE TYPE R TO THE US!!!!!!

I heard that the reason Britain sells the hatchback is because the car is built in Britain. While the saloon and coupe are made elsewhere.

I'm European, I hate the Euro-Spec Type-R, it's ugly as shit, and it isn't that good, the Japanese-Spec Type-R is much better looking and it's a hole lot faster!!, why the fuck European Honda keep making that shit??, or at least they could make it as fast as the one they sell in Japan, it's not fair for us Europeans, I always wanted a Type-R, but now I might not buy one, it just doesn't look good to me .

Well as she says there's an importer for FD2s in Europe...If u love it so much go get one... ;) I like a lot more the dashboard of the UK spec Type-R&exterior is not worse or better for me....wouldnt change it for a better engine..

you think you guys have the a bad civic type-R in Europe, you are mistaken. Here in the US, we don't even have a Type-R, we have the shitty civic si (ep3 and older). the current 6th gen. is a little bit better but not like the type-R. if you want a type-R, get the ep3 type-R.

@09204418448 In Canada the Japanese spec Type-R is sold as the "more comfortable" Acura CSX. In Canada, the other Civic, doesn't even exist. I rest my case about the FD3 being much better. I adore it. Now, we need a racing differential, some decent front aero, wider front tires, and some even better brakes and springs for both cars, even though, in Canada, one of them doens't even exist. (And I'm serious, noone's ever heard of a Euro-spec Type-R in Canada.) I hate it.

Hell no. Spoilers go on the back. It's FRONT wheel drive. I think I'll put a Formula One front bumper on the front thanks. Nothing on the rear, or maybe just a stylish LITTLE wing.

@Funeral4aFan: Well, your right a rear spoiler will push down the back, but it's good for all four wheels to grip on any car whether it's a FWD, AWD or RWD car. When cars start going faster they start to lift a little thus lessening tire grip. So they don't put the spoiler on the back for shear looks, it's to keep the rear wheels well gripped at speed, yet the actual size i'm pretty sure is a style thing.

@Funeral4aFan The Canadian CSX is not the exact same as the Japanese Type-R. Less power (same drivetrain as the Si) and its suspension isn't as fancy.

Yep. it's a Honda. That can be fixed. The good thing, is that there is no monster rear wing. In a FWD car, the rear tires are there for balance. You don't need them for grip.
