double kick is when you have a double kick pedal vrs. having two independent bass drums with they're own indevidual(pardon my spelling) kick pedal. a double kick pedal has two pedals on it with two hammer things(i also don't play drums lol) but its all one and they both hit the same bass drum. i suppose its a cheaper alternative. still expensive though.
