  • So much better sounding than the scripted trash people post.

  • that was great

  • hehe great display of music skills ; ) though the game...The only thing that makes me want to play this game is that music system. And you doing it just makes me more excited with that

  • I'm going to forget to properly play the game at this rate, lol.

  • Great skill! I wish a can play my lute that well

  • Very nice. I think the free form playing is much better because it's a new experience for the performers and listeners alike.

  • Amazing you should post that on a lotro music site or something cause that is alot better than alot of the stuff they have there were you cant tell which is a song and whats crap. So 5/5 on the video and 5/5 on creativity.

  • um... thank you...? this was all off the cuff, nothing in the video was scripted.

  • Nice, do you still play?

  • i have taken a step away from the MMO scene, too much time is wasted sitting on the computer with these things. i wont deny that it was a fun game, this applies to every mmo i have played though. i would encourage those interested in this game to try it. i was a level 50 lore master. and i had the expansion but never got around to playing the new stuff.

  • fantastic

  • Sorry to all those people who think there is no skill, there is.

I play guitar right, and for the life of me cannot work out how to do this.

    I'm such a noob :(

Could somebody help me/tell me what to do? Thanks.

    PS great video :D

  • Every now and then I stop by to listen to this little gem. The live performances in LOTRO are surely one of the main reasons I keep on playing.

  • thanks for the kind word! :) nope i am not dead i just no longer have the software i used when i made this video, went the way of the obsolete computer out in back.

  • skill

  • And again thanks for the positive comments everyone!

  • awesome

  • First of all, you have to create the ABC to compose it, which takes hours for each isntrument by itself, then you gotta make sure you have the right timing on it, since its justa bunch of text, but otherwise you can use 1-0 (or 8?) keys to play notes and use ctrl and shift to go different octaves and do some freeform.

  • akers now im one of the people playing in this video, the one playing the drum. Why people think we did a nice job or a good job is because we didnt use abc notation there. We are playing by hand, so no we arent letting it play automatically right there. were using our own skills. Thats why people are giving us nice comments about this vid.

  • and the video IS good. You guys really have talent to do this.

  • what softwere did you use to record this

  • i use gamecam, but i could never figure out how it records sound without putting a mic to the speakers

  • I am very impressed!! ;) I luff it!!

  • Wow that's surprisingly good ! 5/5 !!

  • nice!!

  • hey ginger i mailed you, i want u to read buddy!

  • hey thanks again for all the great comments guys!

  • i got this game a few weeks ago..it's great! nice vid :)

  • I never played LOTRO, I'm going for a trial. But could you explain me (or link me to a video)how this music system works? Is it like a minigame, or you can make your music?

I really don't know how it works...But it sounds awsome btw!

    5* xD

  • the game has vastly improved since the video was posted allowing for greater freedom. its not like a mini game but you can play it any time. now a day's you can use abc files to automatically play songs from your music folder in the lord of the rings online under my documents. in game type (slash) play song name and the game should automatically play the song you selected. check out thefatlute (dot) com if your interested in getting some abc's to play in game. my user name on there is amonrohae!

  • Ty for the info m8 =)

    Sounds cool

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE NICE AND WONDERFUL COMMENTS PEOPLE!im the drummer in that vid and ill say that since the vid poster wont lol. so thank you! and keep commenting!

  • hey hey hey! dont need to say that. i just dont check my email that much. thanks for the views guys!

  • lol there he is! hows it going buddy?

  • you guys beat me soooooooooooo bad in instrument playing........for now.......

  • if you can afford that.....your one lucky lucky fellow.....

  • thats awesome, i got to learn to play my lute better

  • you're sick!

  • Maybe he's not sick, but just rich and a bit crazy ^^

  • is this when the music system came out? i noticed u were in Tavern of Roheryn beta

  • need a bit more practis...xD

  • nice

  • awesome!! :)

  • Hmm, this was amazing. I didnt accually think until now that it was possible to make music that good with people in that game...well done, easy 4 or 5 stars.

  • i love you! have my babies?

  • This is awesome. Wow.

  • LotRO, not WoW.... sorry couldn't resist.

  • whah lol

  • Very nice.

  • What the hell? This is way better than guitar hero.

  • wow, so beautiful, never did a jam session myself though, always played alone (or with 2 a short song)

  • Awesome ! You guys rock !

  • You mean those aren´t your real life friends? Then how have you arranged that??

  • Most likeley gave a string of numbers for them to press in-game wich they wrote down? o_o

  • nope im the drummer of that band...and the whole song is hand played by all three of us.

  • That was beautiful. This is the first LotRO jam session I've found on YouTube that was actually any good, and it's really astounding. I hope that there are enough talented people like this around that when I join up, I might be able to learn something and play along.

  • see the video of guy playing hotel california!

  • i havent played lotro for a looonnnngggg time but i see they finally added drums, like i always wanted!

  • well i got a good computer that can handle this in outside terrain, i have been looking for my 2 other amigos, but i havent been able to find them, this was dont on a test server Rohyren, so its not the casual place to hang out. if i happen to find them again i will try to make another video.

    best of luck!

  • ..plz let me know when u have anew concert ;)

    lol...so nice

    keep it goin ;)

  • That is awesome, U guys should go on tour!

  • Makes me want to try and play this game again ;Q

  • i like it alot

  • This fucking kicks ass! Love it. :)

  • This is amazing!!! I wish i could play that well.

  • Sweet whats ur bands name?

  • thats up for the lead musician to decide! :) but i havent been in contact with them for awhile, since i was on this during the time i was waiting to use the abc program. i play on live servers still! and i like to make music still, but until i meet up with my possie again, the only videos i will be posting from here on wll be in relation to the epic quest line... they are just little things that would want people to becomme intrested in lotro!

  • Very well played my friend!

  • dood... whered the guy get the drum...

  • Good job guys! realy nice music! keep going and make some more videos!! LOTRO rulez!

  • nice music love it just makes me want lotro more

  • hey man, great composition.

haven't played the game yet, so i'm wondering how it copes with latency...do you hear your own instrument slightly delayed as well to match the others?

this is really mouth watering stuff for me...being able to show off musical skills ingame.

It's mind boggling to think about the future possibilities of user content creation in MMOGs!

  • ok what i have heard was that you could sync up with the server so that you wont get lag when you play in groups, i have yet to discover how it works, i find it best to angle the cameral where its not facing wide open spaces as it may cause lag, hence the reason we play indoors, but the only true way to play in a group is by hand, i love the feeling of showing musical talent to the mmog populas.

  • I agree, only small details like smoking your pipe and playing instrument add so much Role Playing Reality!! Thanks to all ROLE PLAYERS!!!!

  • Very nice!

  • H-E-R-O - You people rock.

  • It sounds great! LotRO is a great fun game. Thanks for the video response. :D

  • AWESOME JOB.

  • Amazing. I love it.

  • that's some mighty fine drumming

  • Freaking amazing! If there's any reason I start playing lotro, this'll be it!

  • How the hell did he get a drum?

Or is this video from beta?

  • its from the public preview server, its things that are going to be put up in a next patch, this is roheryn server which is public to all lotro members, that drum is going to be put out on the 13th with the evendim patch.
