i was there..i was right next to the Wigan fans on the lower seats of West stand..they kicked off big time! we were spat on, punch, kicked outside the ground, they were punching shit out of the stewards, riot horses on the field, the works. apart from that..fantastic night. R.F.C 4EVA!
Wigan have the shitest fans EVER! My mate (whos a wigan fan) went to stamford bridge to see Chelsea V Wigan last season and he told me there were only about 36 away fans .. 36?!? I get more than that in my sunday league matches! R.F.C TILL I DIE!
@00RobFather0 yeah but back then our fans where immense because we were in a proper division the premierships a load of shite fella. ask a reading fan how many wigan was there on that night i think it was 2,500/3k im pretty sure it was half of the stand behind the goal
@wiganeriam You're right - you sold your section of the ground, and to your credit, your fans made quite a lot of noise. Unfortunately, I remember the reverse fixture being poorly attended. In fact I seem to remember there were about 8000 odd there, 3500 of which were Reading supporters. Great memories of this game....legendary.
wigan dont deserve premiership football, their fan base is on the same level as a league 1 club... relagation will come for them eventually and it will be back to 10'000 fans a week if your lucky
how is that revenge? Revenge would involve Wigan having some part in our relegation to the Championship which they didn't.
What happens when Heskey leaves in the january transfer window? I don't see Wigan having a good January, you're only 8pts off the relegation zone, I think that's how far off we were this time last season.
I'll probably get slated for this but I remember that game and we were pretty poor for 85 minutes. Parky even admitted after the game that we hadn't played well (see season review vid for that season). However, that was certainly one of the best Madejski Stadium moments.
I havnt seen that in long! Such a quality game.. amazing atmosphere.. Remember still buzzing when i got home and watching butlers goal get through the defenders legs.. Jokes Urz! P.s.. Lets all kill Oliver Holt!
Curo's offside to be fair! One of the best memories of the MadStad still!! Pause the vid at 1.56, when Fozzie smashes it back across goal, Curo is offside. Lovin' the old videos, most royals "fans" would never have seen them before ;)
