  • Babies can't possible survive without their mother's milk. (unless you get the perscription milk) but its still really sad because the people dont get to see their babies

  • is it rilly necessary to chain someone to a bed while giving birth?? i doubt the mother is going to try to escape in that circumstance.

  • It may help if you research the programs a little more. Mother's must meet certain criteria to be accepted into the "baby dorms". The programs are also proving to be successful in keeping mother's from repeat offenses. The bond between a m other and child is incredibly powerful and when a woman is educated and supported through pregnancy, birth and motherhood, she very often produces children who fare better than she did.

  • @angelmom3950 calm down . i understand that chilren need there mothers . i just think that the babies should start out seeing the real world . thats my opinion . . if you feel that children should stay with there mothers in prision, thats youre choice . you have children , i dont . i dont know the feeling of having a child. im sorry if you feel offended by my opinion by the video.

  • @angelmom3950 k just keep the baby in jail then

  • @angelmom3950 im just saying . the baby should be born with freedom

  • this is wrong , i personally dont think the baby should grow up in jail . thats just cruel

  • they can have sex in prison :/

  • Everyone should NOT be able to reproduce. Having a baby is NOT a human right. People like this should NOT be allowed to have children. Every single person convicted of a serious offence should be sterilised. Boo fucking hoo if you think that's harsh...

  • Absolutely not! The kids should not be punished for what their worthless mothers have done. Get these babies to a suitable home where they aren't around women who fight 24/7 a day.

  • @robertsnowden19 some of the women in there don't really deserve that. I know of people who go to prison for months on end when in the end, they're found out to be innocent. By that time, they've lost their child and have to face up to a shit load of law suits to get them back. I think it depends on the crime. If it serious like murder or drug dealing, then fair enough. Give the kid to a parent who can take care of it. But for second-degree theft? (mostly done out of despiration) ft -.-

  • Ok I get the fact that until you are in this position you will never understand what change this has on a person.I WAS THERE AND I WAS HOUSED WITH THESE WOMEN!So I can say something about this program. It does work for some people.Bobbi will never learn her lesson. She didn't take care of her daughter while she was there.BUT there are a lot of women who do take care of their kids and they do deserve the chance to be a mother. And without this program you would b*tch that the kids are in the system

  • WHAT THE FUCK!!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS CHAINING A MOTHER WHILE GIVING BIRTH TO A BABY THATS GOTTA HURT....

  • WHERE can I watch the whole version of this???

  • Babies need their mothers. So what if their parent made a mistake by committing a crime? If they are responsible and love their child, they should be allowed to raise them in prison! The fact that they put shackles on a woman who is about to give birth in the bed is inhumane and disgusting.

  • @lpgurlnj I agree completely. It made me sick, especially reading that it puts the mother AND babies life at risk. Not only that, but know what? for half of the prisoners, the ones who AREN'T violent or agressive in any way, they're STILL shackled! That's disgusting! It's not like they're going to run off and bite the doctor's ear off for crying out loud -_-

  • @Jill4ChrisRedfeild I know!!! Prison nowadays is so inhumane.

  • @lpgurlnj Wild animals don't get shackled during birth, it just goes to show that our race is sadistic to our own kind when there's no need for it -_-

  • 1:37 NO

  • Hell no they shouldn't be allowed to keep their babied when they're in prison! I'm not saying that mother's shouldn't be able to be with their kids I'm just saying they obviously did something to get in prison why should they be rewarded that oportunity?!

  • As well, it is not like the babies will be there forever. As a condition and in order to be eligible... the mothers must have less than 18 months left in their sentence. And the rooms seem to look nice, they are decorated like a nursery and have a crib and toys... like a normal environment.

I am in favor or programs like this and I feel there should be more similar to this across the United States and introduced in Canada.

  • In order to be eligible to live in the "baby dorm" with their new born they must NOT have a violent criminal record. There are screening procedures and boards that must approve this. Its not like anybody in that prison can go in and have a baby and raise it there. This program allows mothers to have a change to start new and be successfully reintegrated back into society. It is in our best interest to attempt to reduce the chances of women reoffending and programs like this give women a chance

  • This is crazy. I know that children need their mothers but eight children later and the bit*h doesn't learn!? I'm sorry but if you are smoking crack when you are pregnant and worry later if it will effect your baby, then you don't love them enough to raise them anyways. Plus, being a parent is a privledge, not a right. If you can't be trusted on the streets to do the right thing and keep a roof over your head, you dont get to raise your kid at all! Plain and simple.

  • @LynchhMobb562 not if their mum is a convicted seriel killer with a history of violence and drug abuse. Its not in anyway fair for a child to grow up with their mum in prison. can you imagine the kid getting bullied at school? its be appauling

  • Hey does anyone know if these women have the epidural option? Just wondering...

  • @talkative12 They do have the option to have epidurals. In the first episode, they showed a woman getting one, and after they get one they are allowed to take the shackles off since they are pretty much paralyzed from the waist down! I am still figuring out where I stand on this. There is a part of me thinking, It's not fair to the children, then the other part of me thinks, Maybe this is just the support these mothers need to be rehabilitated!! I will have to give it a couple years b4 deciding!

  • @talkative12 It was on last night (Thursday) on TLC @ 10pm. (Same time as Jersey Shore, this was how I stumbled across it haha!! It will be my new Thursday night show!)

  • this is so wrong...

  • They shouldnt be allowed to have them. its just wrong.

  • @billabob16 it's just wrong to seperate a mother from her child unless the child was in danger in the mother's care too. But that's just my opinion
