I have never been inside or even on the property but i just wanna see it and experience it for myself . Does anybody have advice for a first timer? Beware of Cops? @AeRoSmItH101112 Yeah, me a couple friends almost got arrested Saturday afternoon. We're from NY and didn't realize how OVER THE TOP Essex County cops are about trespassing. We were 5 adults from Long Island, SO obviously not there to smoke crack and rob gas stations! And in our defense, there were no " No trespassing" signs posted from the direction we came in. In hindsight I would have hidden my truck better, but you live and learn! Fun place to check out though.

Ive been there a few times being from passaic county and I seen my 1st ghost there and found a shitload of very interesting files there.You cant go in all scared cause your mind will play tricks on you,but at the essex county sanitorium I felt like I was being watched by bad energy.

its not a mental hospital it was an old taburculosis hospital and over 1000 patients past away in there.. the most scary thing that people dont no is that some were in that building is an underground tunnel no one can find and they dumpd boddies there and when they closed the hospital they never removed those bodies. if u ever get close or go in the bulding it has that old nasty sulfuric smell which is mostlikely dead boddies lol.

We have lots of memories of Severalls. To be honest we smashed the the hell out of the place about 2002-2006. There's still lots of sinks, toilets there to be smashed if anyone fancies a vist.

Our urbex group stopped smashing stuff there about 2006 though. We've moved on to break up other places.
