i saw this tour...when he did "the king must die" it was something you would never forget...i found out where the band was staying and went there after the show...i got to hang out with the band at the hotel bar till like 2am..sans elton...davey was there...the band and back up singers and some tour people..they were totally down to earth...yes fred mandel the keyboard player was there...twas a great night...

Elton may have been in his hotel room doing lines of Coke. He was pretty strung out during this period.

This was the era when he started recording the 'Sleeping With the Past' album. Thanks for posting this, I remember hearing it on the radio and have been looking for it for some time. He also did Mona Lisas part 1 and 2 on this concert which sounded great
