i think the v6 is a tremendous value. What a car. I just think the interior still sucks, i bought a 2007 and sold it 2 years later. the shaker 500 was rattling all the plastics. also those old fashion gauges look good at the beginning, but age very quickly. i wish there was a 1000$ audi interior option. i would buy another one in a heartbeat.

Stock 3.73 gears. updated suspension, from shocks to the springs and everything in between, updated brakes with special pads & brake lines (even larger than the Brembos, optional on the GT), revised camshafts with different lobes, updated clutch, different shot throw shifter, carbon fiber LSD (Torsen optional), updated headers, updated exhaust from the headers back, updated TCS and ESC. That of course does not include the interior updates.

Also, For anyone looking to further the argument of "The Mustang isn't a Muscle Car", for your information it is a Pony car.. Which is a specialized midsized sports car with a muscle car engine.. To say it is not a muscle car also means that the Camero, the Challenger, and all the other Pony Car Immitators are not muscle cars either.. Simple as that.
I hate to say this, but the car is not that much faster than the Camaro SS. Only 0.3 faster in the quarter mile, and it is clearly going after the Camaro SS.
Yet everyone everywhere seems to be praising the Mustang for whatever reason, and the Camaro never received the car enthusiast's attention. It only got spoiled with that shallow Transformers movie, and unfortunately, it is known only for that, which is a shame because the movie's quality doesn't do the Camaro's any justice.

They could make smaller, lighter mufflers (they're 50lbs each ) lighter body panels, lighter rims, etc. The 2010 Mustang lost a significant amount of weight without a complete platform change or anything like that. So yes, it can be done. Ford has already proved that.

Lot of the body panels are already from light materials. The crash test ratings are fine, and that's thanks to the chassis and the skeleton of the car not the body panels. Not only that, less weight = less energy on impact = better rating.
It could easily be cost effective if it means better performance and efficiency and therefore higher sales.

Mustang looks great since 2010 models, with these extra changes the Mustangs are just awesome! Camaro looks ugly, the inside isn't nice either compares to the Mustang and now, even performances aren't as good as the Mustangs; go Ford; these are what we were waiting for!!
Yeah it's a legitimate 5.0 liters now. I have a 5.4 in my 00 GT...it's ok, great torque range but I'd rather have the new TI-VCT, it's superior in every way.
A good car for sure...but I can think of so many other things I'd rather do with that kind of money...like buy a standard GT and mod it to blow the doors off your GT500 :)
@Indraelius Dont be silly a GT500 is a special car not some car you see every three blocks. You can hate all you want but a GT500 is special for us Ford guy, but you wouldn't know. Shelby is a legend, and anything he builds is one as well. Mod for mod you'll get slapped every time.

And the fact you previously said "I've got a 5.4" tells me you DO in fact care about performance. As far as the money issue...I merely stated that you can afford the price tag of one (which, again, I said was pretty good for what you get). All I said is that since i will not hide the fact i DO care about performance as well as styling (which is why I drive Mustangs) I'd simply get a GT for cheaper and build it to be faster than yours for cheaper.
YES, you will still have the iconic GT500 in your driveway and you will turn more heads...I'll just be faster. So in a way we both win. You get to have your very attractive GT500 and I get my modded GT...I hope this clears things up for ya bud.
I cant deny having a Shelby is special, plus I think Shelby always has Ford watching over them so I think reliability and quality would be much better than Roush or Saleen. Just my 2 cents

I definitely agree with you. When I was writing muscle some part of me was saying no no no...lol. But regardless I think it is really cool looking cuz its like a muscle sports car. Its attitude with focus and precision. But I can easily see if you dont like the looks. Its very subjective...I know plenty people that dont like it. I think id take one in black.....I think lol

@Lestkn2 You are a Dink.. Just so you know, The reason that the mustang hasn't changed that much is because drivers love it as is.. Why do you think it made the change back after the ill fated Mustang 2? The Copycats like the Camero and every other car made to compete with it have to change otherwise they wear out fast..

For overselling the Mustang the Mustang still outsold the Camaro for the year. The reason the sales were down is the same thing were seeing here. 100 more horsepower and a better suspension for the same price.

Mustang looks great since 2010 models, with these extra changes the Mustangs are just awesome! Camaro looks ugly, the inside isn't nice either compares to the Mustang and now, even performances aren't as good as the Mustangs; go Ford; these are what we were waiting for!!

Yeah it's a legitimate 5.0 liters now. I have a 5.4 in my 00 GT...it's ok, great torque range but I'd rather have the new TI-VCT, it's superior in every way.

A good car for sure...but I can think of so many other things I'd rather do with that kind of money...like buy a standard GT and mod it to blow the doors off your GT500 :)

@Indraelius Dont be silly a GT500 is a special car not some car you see every three blocks. You can hate all you want but a GT500 is special for us Ford guy, but you wouldn't know. Shelby is a legend, and anything he builds is one as well. Mod for mod you'll get slapped every time.

@IzZyTX1991 The SN-197 platform GT500 is an attractive car...and the price is a pretty good all things considered...but unless you're just buying into the name (which I can safely assume you are due to your last response), it's really nothing special.

If i gave a rats ass about racing i'd have a cobra jet or a bike. If you ever own somthing special (special to you) you'll know its not worth it when you see the dead bug sratches and rocks that hit your car after racing.

SHELBY is a colectors car at least to me it is. If you were mature you would understand its not all about speed if it was i'd have a bike. I never took anything away from you for owning one...again...as I already stated, its an attractive car...I am aware of its history as I am a Mustang lover, so you can lower your gun now. I've always liked the 67 GT500, i've owned a 65 coupe (with the 289 4 barrel).

And the fact you previously said "I've got a 5.4" tells me you DO in fact care about performance. As far as the money issue...I merely stated that you can afford the price tag of one (which, again, I said was pretty good for what you get). All I said is that since i will not hide the fact i DO care about performance as well as styling (which is why I drive Mustangs) I'd simply get a GT for cheaper and build it to be faster than yours for cheaper.

YES, you will still have the iconic GT500 in your driveway and you will turn more heads...I'll just be faster. So in a way we both win. You get to have your very attractive GT500 and I get my modded GT...I hope this clears things up for ya bud.

I cant deny having a Shelby is special, plus I think Shelby always has Ford watching over them so I think reliability and quality would be much better than Roush or Saleen. Just my 2 cents
