  • Muito Bom!!!

  • Chet looks like George Bush

  • @guitarstudent101 At first glance... But Chet has smart and kind eyes. Unlike Mr. George Bush!

  • I wish the Grateful Dead with Jerry Garcia had had a chance to do this song too

  • Thanks very much

  • has been one of my fave songs for 20+ years and still is :)

  • Back in the "Sultans of Swing" days Mark was laying bare his influence. Maybe Jorgenson has taken it to another level (awesome...check out the Hellecasters!)...Knopfler still hangs on to his muse I think. Anyway I love all guitar people players..Beck is a one off as is Santana. Zappa was unique. But they're only the guys that have albums out......yay the shy bedroom maestro...YT makes it possible

  • Wow Daffydoug this is fantastic love this music thanx

  • Go over and watch this video as well: Mark Knopfler & Chet Atkins - Instrumental Medley

  • Is it me or do I also hear Paul Franklin?

  • @dygnus yes you do. . .paul franklin plays steel guitar, pedabro and dobro on the neck & neck cd. you also hear vince gill doing backing vocals, and floyd cramer's piano on sweet dreams :)

  • Great duo.

  • I have to say Chet is my favorite guitarist and Mark is right behind him on my list. Put them together and is magic. This is a timeless song, and forever will be. Thanks for posting it.

  • @Nwolc14

    "Behind him?!?!He is way ahead.

  • @Nwolc14

...and Pat Metheny? What are you think about him?

  • @TheCypruss pat metheny is amazing

  • Fine song; fine music; great teamwork! Absolutely masterful! Thanks daffydoug

  • Chet is best, and Mark added to his great guitar picking sounds

  • vladamir putin and george bush go at it again

  • .....You know, I love Mark Knopfler, I love Chet Atkins, but Dire Straits, Walk of Life, MTV .... --- well, its rock music and I really don't like it. Mark should stick to country music, it requires WAY more talent :-)

  • lol... rock music is easyer than country music, in guitar

  • hardly..

  • it is only good music, with very good guitarists!

  • wow...

  • Thanks Mike for sharing, loved this!

  • Great music 5*

  • The world is a lesser place without Chet. He was such a brilliant musician. His picture should be next to the word class in the dictionary He is my hero. I aspire to as good a person in life as he was because even if I practiced for a thousand years I could never match his talent and ability.

  • would anybody let me know what is the name of this great cd, would like to add it to my knopfler collection

  • @charlotte946 "Neck and Neck"

  • @phllpbrkr thank you so much, a appreciate it

  • I've bot the original cd of this. Just fabulous.

  • The fact that "Mr. Guitar" recognized Mark's talent - and asked he occupy the same space as himself - IMO says all need be said about Mark Knopfler's incredible talent. The world is a better place because of Chet Atkins and Mark is among those few who have met Chet's level of expertise. God and Heavens Angels join us listening to Chet at this very minute.

  • I admit, that would have been QUITE AN HONOR to have Chet want to make a record with you. Mark was one of the favored few. I love Marks playing!

  • @quickdeuce "God and Heavens Angels join us listening to Chet at this very minute." ---- God is so kind & giving to allow us few to be able to play a guitar as if it were just another part of us. Thank God for the gifts that He gives to us!

  • ever listened to his own albums?, to private investigations?, to sultans of swing?... everyone has his own taste, but boring and poor are terms who can't be used for these two guitar players

  • like this?-check out the delevantes

  • Great album Mark brings out the best in Chet

  • Gorgeous song by two brilliant talents, but I just can't get over the keyboard riff - to me it has a real 'Walk of Life' sound to it... Could be just me.

  • because it's the same kind of progression I think

  • this is a very cool song didn't even know it exsisted!

  • This is off a really great CD. "there'll be some changes" is, I think, my fav.

  • Agree. Btw, if Mark woudn't be awarded Grammy for remastering old Dire Straits things, this would be his last Grammy for this song. All through those years...

/Add on/ If you want brilliant music you need "Neck And Neck" /Add off/

  • Amen......I loved this tape, and almost forgot I had it until I found this......I love your favorite too..I may just be in pure agreement.....Chet is smoother than Mark....almost unimaginable really!......

  • I like the melody and love that girl who rides off on the bike. Wonder who she is and where she is.

  • What girl?

  • I think the name of the song is "I Still Can't Say Goodbye". The studio versian is on Chet Atkins C.G.P. a great album.

  • I've posted it already. A search will turn it up.

    Daff

  • It's from "Neck and Neck".

  • does anyone know the song they sang live about chets mother or father dying

  • I like it very much

  • hello, try to see the original video that

    upload, see my videos.

    regards from Spain

  • Masters

  • What the hell is George W Bush doing playing with Knopfler? Sorry Chet but you gotta get yourself a facelift! You be ugleee!

  • George Bush can't pick his nose! Chet didn't worry nearly as much about his looks as you seem to be. He was too busy being the world's best.Since he died, the guy next to him probably is the best. Most folks would agree. You ought to enjoy the music.

  • but, chet himself said tommy emanuel was best

  • hahahahahahahahahahaha.
