I like turtles because they're so chill. They don't hurt anyone. They're just like, "Hey man, I want to swim, and maybe eat some lettuce. But I'm gonna take my time getting there, I'm not in a rush. Because I'm a turtle."
I just saw my ex and it fucking sucks. Everything rushed back and it felt like there was lightning in my spine and fire on my skin and I can't force it all back down. Yet I guess
The reason why everyone hates on Weezer after Pinkerton is easy: it's the last album that is stacked. Every disc afterwards has a few good songs and a bunch of fluff.
when this cae out i related to it so much that i thought rivers had like read y diary or something. thats whats great about music,it can make u feel a part of something. that being said, every band influenced by them blows
I loved Maladroit and when this came out, it was not what I expected. I hated on it, and years later I'm still singing and playing song after song from this album. I take it back -- Make Believe is an awesome album.
My favourite Weezer albums are Pinkerton, and The Blue Album a close second. But I really don't understand why everyone hates on Make Believe. I think it's amazing! Way better than Maladroit, which is my least favourite....(other than Raditude)
This is their most underrated song they ever made, in my opinion, and obviously the monster tune on Black Album. It's packed with dark emotion and has a great hook. I'm shocked it didn't hit.
This song needs to stick out more! I hate how weezer didn't make this one of their greatest hits. I hear a lot of wonderous melodies in this song. A lot!
This is a great song. I like Make Believe, but I prefer Pinkerton over all other albums. It's more raw and stripped down than all of their other albums. Blue album is second best.
Wow. Weezer closes all their albums well, don't they? I personally did not like Make Believe, but it has three highlights: Perfect Situation, Peace, and this one.
@Lilyannah07 People love Rivers' old, raw, love lyrics of insecurity (like Only in Dreams or El Scorcho). Its the only reason I like this song from Make Believe.
I love this song, I've listened to it since I was in middle school and now I'm a senior. Now it reminds me of my life since it makes me think of my ex because we have to see each other every day in class which makes it hard to move on..
@@hsefootball36 Gimme a break! Don't buy into the tourist bullshit. Hawaii is nice, on the surface., but peel back the surface and you'll find a state beset with a crack cocaine epidemic, criminals walking the street because the court system doesn't believe in reasonable sentencing, and if you're white, fogetta boutit bra! Yes, theres ALOT of reverse racism directed against white people. Granted you will never see this if you are at the tiki bar in waikiki on the beach playing tourist for a week
Honestly, I think half of the love for the Blue Album and Pinkerton are placebo. Try imagining some of Weezer's song with a blue background. Imagine it as a song from the Blue Album and you'll like it just because you want to.
People say Pinkerton was an emo album, even though he puts a lot of emotion, this is the real depressing one. It has its share of good songs like Beverly Hills, We Are All on Drugs, and This Is Such a Pity.
Weezer formed in L.A. on February of 1992 however,
changed band members several times.
The currently group is: Rivers Cuomo lead vocals, guitar, Patrick Wilson drums, guitar, backing vocals, Brian Bell guitar, backing vocals, keyboards, and Scott Shriner bass, backing vocals, keyboards. I enjoy listening and playing their music.
I have liked Weezer since I was 18 and now I am 32 and I still like them they get better and better and the older songs that I used to listen to I remember the times I listened to them and it makes me feel like I was when I was younger...so if ya don't like it thats ok it is all you I am still gonna like it and thats it
meh...raditude was a little too electronic for me. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on electronics at all, but i listen to weezer because weezer sounds like weezer...i guess raditude just struck me the wrong way.
i don't know why people thumbed you down. I didn't like raditude that much either. Weezer is my favorite band and songs like I Can't Stop Partying were really disappointing.
agreed. I'm not gonna go say "RADITUDE SUCKED WEEZER HASNT BEEN GOOD SINCE PINKERTON" but its safe to say that each album Weezer gains a little charm, and looses a previous charm.. Sometimes it looses more than it gains unfortunately, and thats how I feel with Raditude.
This is a great song, but I thought it was such a depressing song to end an album on! It took me several minutes to feel happy again after hearing this song.
Why is everyone always hating on Weezers albums after Pinkerton? If you ask me the albums following pinkerton are the best. Every one of thier albums is the shizzel mcfizzle.
I wouldn't say that all post Pinkerton is incredible, but every album has it's moments.
Complaining about a Weezer album being bad is like saying you got 8 pounds of candy instead 10, you still get tons of good stuff no matter which way you go.
Haunt You Every Day is totally a high point for Make Believe, much like Perfect Situation and This Is Such A Pity.
Exactly. There are quite a few gems from Post-Pinkerton albums such as Island in the Sun, Dope Nose, Burnt Jamb, Dreamin', etc. And even then, there's a whole bunch of b-sides and demos that are great.
@glinzman No they aren't. Pinkerton is the best Weezer album, along with the B-Sides from around the Black Hole Era. If you honestly think "Can't Stop Partying" is a fucking good song, then you are a fucking idiot. I think a FEW songs post-Pinkerton are decent. From Make Believe, I think this one is alright, along with Perfect Situation.
@glinzman because theyre all whiny bitches, they just think its cool to disregard anything they do after P cause they think it makes them seem edgy, theyre not even honest with themselves,i dont think the loss of those fans has affected weeer one bit they nor any band should cow tail to those malcontents
absolutely not! i luv weezer, but all of the albums after pinkerton are the worst. the first 2 albums are gold, but albums like the red album & raditude cannot compare!
@glinzman It's because Weezer has changed alot and so has RIvers. There's some good stuff on the new albums but Pinkerton and the blue album are gold. I started listening to Weezer when they released the green album and had never even heard Pinkerton as a whole until about a year ago. It is without a doubt one of the greatest albums ever, so its pretty hard to top.
I like most of the stuff on Make Believe, but I don't know about this one. It's okay I guess. And I think Maladroit is better than most people give it credit for.
everybody says weezer has never done anything nearing the brilliance of the blue album and pinkerton and I just think that is sooo untrue they have made some amazing songs since then and will continue to do so they are amazing and this song is just one of the many testaments to that
yea i used to be pro blue and pinkerton and trash a lot of there other work but i'm starting to realize there is still some good after those albums. but i'm not the biggest fan of red
The angel and the one (Red), The greatest man that ever lived, my best friend(make believe), Heart songs (Red), Keep Fishing, Dope nose, Photograph, we are all on drugs, The other way, Perfect situation, Slob
yes of course i have, I was just pointing out that people should not hate so much on the recent material weezer has released after pinkerton because it really is not that bad, some material could compete easily with pinkerton as far as brilliance goes. That being said pinkerton and blue are my favorite albums they released and are classics.
I may have a few disagreements, but i think this song tops both "Only In Dreams" and "Undone- The Sweater Song," hell, I count this as weezer's best work. ^_^

weezer is not emo
some elements of weezer's music have been used in emo music; weezer is a predecessor of emo music, alot of emo bands count weezer as an influence, just like weezer counts alot of metal bands as influences, that does not make them metal---

@fishermanswharf5
Actually, Emo is just the most mis-classified genre of all time,
Alot of ACTUAL emo bands (such as Sunny Day Real Estate) were established at more or less the same time as Weezer
How misused the term is now just goes to show how idiotic the music industry/pop-culture has gotten since the 90's

This song has really grown on me since the album was released. Apart from "This is Such a Pity', it's probably the best thing on the album.
