I should know... I DID IT!

  • @theguymjp Well honestly I don't know how you did. I have never seen anything like it in AE. If you did a tutorial would be fantastic.

  • is that a British Tobey Maguire?

  • Did you use the puppet tool thing?

  • WTF jajajaja nice

  • how do you do that? i reallyyyyyyy want to know!pleaseee :-D

  • Okay I think I have an idea how this was done.... You kept your eyes a quarter of the bridge of your nose... and your mouth but I saw the lip indentation to warp a bit so it almost threw me off I would have to say that you roto'd just your lips.... thats why there are still markers on the bottom lip.... Then you linked the puppet tool to the null objects to relative positions of a pic... Very clever! you almost have a 3d model substitute...

  • how did u do this plz help?

  • So, this is applied to a 3d model? Pretty damn good model, if so.

  • U haz tutorial soon?

  • @psycosid666 Well, quite frankly I don't think you DESERVE a tutorial, if that's how you act when you don't get everything served to you on a platter.

  • @theguymjp yeah that's me :D

  • @theguymjp But if someone would ask politely for a tutorial, would you at least concider..? Because this looks VERY usefull, even your expressions are copied onto the other face and so it comes close to performance capture! I would definitely like to know more about it :-) Thanks for posting this anyway!

  • @musician1971a Certainly! I just need to sort some stuff out AFK, and then I'll be making a tutorial. :) Maybe even this month..

  • @theguymjp Cool! Thanks so much, I'm looking forward to it, and to keep updated I will now subscribe to your channel :-)

  • THats awesome! Tutorial? or is it to complicated?

  • do you have a tutorial?

  • Have you tried motion tracking points on your face in AE without putting dots on? I have seen markerless motion capture apps. I think it can be replicated in AE.

  • The rendered version looks like someone applied some goofie ass filters to a real person talking. Which, considering it's not real, is remarkably impressive. I'd say this was a resounding success.

    Additionally, isn't human ingenuity ridiculous?

  • pls make a tutorial

  • What did you use for the 3D face?

  • it's pretty good for a first time trial. Keep practicing.

  • Likewise.

Learn how to write properly if you're going to insult someone unnecessarily though.

  • Amazing! Yup, a tutorial would be way cool!

  • only after effects? not 3d?

  • @sherdow yep, just after effects

I originally recorded the video(s) for 3D tracking, but I couldn't configure the cameras.

  • I love you!! wicked!!! what do i need to buy!

  • how do you do that? can you make a tutorial?

  • a tutorial would be splendid, well done chap!

  • the top of your head keeps shrinking every time you wrinkle, thats hilarious !!

  • =P glad you think so...

  • @theguymjp I think many ppl thinks so too :)

  • :O! this is great, do you have a tutorial?, how did you do it, did you save all the dato of the movement with after effects motion capture and replace your face with a normal 2d image? :O pls let me know (l)

  • No tutorial, might make one in the future though. We'll see. =]

And yes, your guess of how I did it is correct! :D

  • @theguymjp and the eyes and the mouth you fade it out so it can be the real ones?

this is great im trying to learn this also with 3d with maya and motion capture :D!

    thanx for the respond!

  • @andrygarza Yep, I also colour corrected the 'real' me so that my skin colour matched that of the image.

Let me know how you do with Maya and motion capture! :)

  • Do you use only after effects?

  • yep

  • aahhhhh wow! i've sooooo gotta learn how to do that if i ever want my series to suceed! xD

  • Fun lil' ''app'' you can use

    in Adobe after effects. Pretty

nice though. I did it once, but

it got boring after 10 3d models.

And since i'm not really making

shows lately, so it became kind

    of boring.....

  • Wow, how did you do that?

  • All I can figure out is that those are ur real eyes and mouth and ur using a mask on an image thats doing motion tracking and using the puppet tool.

but I still dont know how the hell to make it work :(

  • That's Genius!!!

  • It's like his forehead is simply a gas bubble.

    AWESOME!

  • Whoa!? WOW! brilliant,

very clever and the faults are very minor.

I cant wait to see you this develops your making endless possabilitys! :D

  • Dude that's so accurate, it's scary XD Though obviously that guys forehead is not quite like yours.

  • Haha, thanks Drac :)

  • @DracoAstreus thats because it tracks the forehead from above his eyebrows and since he moves them it also moves in the video and if he moves them so they contract together the forehead will also

  • Hahaha! That's brilliant! Hilarious!

So NOW we know what you get up to in your free time! :P Very clever. :)

  • Thanks! :)

In my free time... yeah, putting makeup on my face... badly :P it was Mum's eyeliner I used to make the dots, you see.
