The story was good, and it was nicely animated... BUT IT WAS SO FUCKING SHORT!
there was no storylines for any of the other characters, there was only 20 episodes, more than half the cutscenes were not animated at all just like a storybook thingy. No sidequests or anything. Remember Soulcalibur 2? it didn't have an animated story like this, but it was BIG and it took a long time, and you had to go through it Twice... although, besides the story mode, the game is pretty freaking awesome.

Then says Il save my sister. Finds his sister to save his sister then kills his sister, decides he did a bad thing and resets to save his sister just so his sister can save him so they can go home and get married, have many imbred children.
im wondering how a soul calibur rpg would go. i know a lot of peeps will say that its a fighting game only but if they made it feel like dragon age 2 gameplay but with soul calibur characters i think it could be fun. give them the powers they have on the cutscenes and show us how strong they really are. :)

So here's my take on Soul Calibur 5 after playing it to excess for the last 2 days. Story was shoddy but none of the games have ever had fantastic storyline. Online is decent if you stay away from ranked matches but so far every single person I'm played has rage quit. This brings me to the biggest downfall of the game. I'm good at SC. Always have been. Setting the story 17 years later is one BIG mistake as I feel that the females from previous games especially Taki, Sophitia, Xianghua and Seung Mina are ESSENTIAL to the storyline of the series. Because of the time gap Taki would now be 46, Sophitia would be 42, Seung mina would be 40 and Xianghua would be 37. I think Namco should've continued setting the game in 1591 so that Taki, Sophitia, Xianghua and Seung Mina could be in SCV.

Anyone notice that when anything has a normal japanese voice actor. The voice actor of sasuke is always one of the characters. Such as Byakuya when he is younger from bleach, This game i have heard it in and many other game titles and anime
@StrikerANDShade I like Taki because I have been using her for the past 4 games. Natsu being a clone is not the same as using Taki. Her development (Taki) has been quite good unlike Natsu. And you dont drop a character on the spot.
Even though they added an actual storyline, it looks pretty damn bad...especially the voice acting. I'm just gonna get these games for fighting. Nothing more :/

@skydance3388 she is not in the game. sadly they removed many character in the game replacing them with character who have a similar style. Sounds okay until you realize even the replacement characters only share a small amount moves with the original. I bought this game early and was dissapointed with the amount of content characters moves unlockables that are severely lacking. I advise that you rent it before you buy it

Sc5 has a great lineup, Lotsa modes, Character customization, Great fighting mechanics and A STORY MODE, I think Sc5 is worth 60 dollars, Plus i think the voice acting is pretty good, though Yoshimitsu's Japanese voice Pwns the english one

Sounds okay until you realize even the replacement characters only share a small amount moves with the original. I bought this game early and was dissapointed with the amount of content characters moves unlockables that are severely lacking. I advise that you rent it before you buy it
