  • are you using flatwound strings?

  • The bass is good, all other parts suck..IMO

  • right on good job guys!!!

  • @ryanmathes47 again, thanks, but... just me.

  • your bass player is really good better keep him happy

  • @ryanmathes47 thanks, but it's all just me and edited together using iMovie.

  • @warmturkey oh wow fooled me well keep yourself happy and good luck to you

  • @warmturkey what kind of pickup did you put in that bass

  • @ryanmathes47 it's called the SCPB-3 by either Seymour Duncan or Basslines (I forgot the brand).

  • @warmturkey Basslines is the bass p/u producer of Seymour Duncan, so the same LoL

  • I like it!

  • When you replaced the pickup on your bass, what was the exact name of the pickup you swapped it out for? Was it just a simple single coil pickup like the old fender P-basses have? I would appreciate knowing :)

  • @ikalese45 I replaced with a pickup very similar to the Basslines SCPB-3, but it was like Seymour Duncan if I'm not mistaken (I lost the box so now I'm not sure).

However, it doesn't fit perfectly in the pick-guard so you have to like sand it down or cut it a little to make the pickup fit. Hope that helps.

  • @warmturkey Yeah that does help. I've had this bass for a couple years now and I don't have enough to buy a whole new bass and I've thought about replacing the pickup a number of times. Did you have any problems with swapping out the pickups or does everything work real nice and sound good?

  • @ikalese45 mine has two problems: 1. that since i didn't cut the hole so the pickup is at an angle--it's just parallel to the bridge--the poles don't line up with the strings and there are volume differences between strings. the other problem 2. is that the jack and the knobs are kinda crappy quality so they crackle already on mine and the jack can cut out if you rattle the cable around a little.

so it's great for home recordings, but not reliable enough for gigs, imo.

  • Good job. Though I have to say, when you sang, your head remained PERFECTLY still. And that really creeped me out, it looked like it was a computer animation. But still nice job playing.

  • Haha, sorry for creeping you out, I guess.

  • @warmturkey That's OK, I got over it. :-)

  • wondeful! great bass sound!

    you changed the pickup?

  • This is the most original cover I've heard on youtube.

  • Thanks.

  • Wow ! Cool ! i like it.

  • I'm interested in upgrading my girlfriends Bronco Bass what kind of pickup are you using on this video?

  • It's from a '50s Tele Bass Re-Issue. It's slightly bigger than the hole in the pick guard so you gotta cut the plastic a bit to make it fit.

  • how does it compare to the original. i got my bass from a friend, he used to use it in like the 6th grade lol. i love it though, everything else is harder for me to play.

  • I love it. It's extremely comfortable to play. I've played on an original once and this probably wouldn't be a perfect "replica," but it's a good instrument on its own terms.

  • but isn't the bronco bass like a cheap beginner's bass for kids? i sometimes wonder how limiting the single pick up might be.

and also i was wondering how the 50's tele bass re issue compares to the original bronco. how does it sound different?

  • Well, yeah, it's totally a kids' beginner's bass. But it's a little better-made than other Squier stuff. Also the stock pickup is terrible, so it has to be replaced.

As for the 50's tele, I don't have one. I just bought the pick-up and replaced my Bronco's pickup with it.

  • wow fantastic dude!
