Then once you hit 50~ mining or so go to Granite in the desert and power mine that.

Iron until 40, then go to granite in the desert and powermine it. If high enough level, you can do Barbarian Assault to charge your penance horn for double mining exp. Also, use mining urns.

For powermining iron, if you go to ardy mine (tele there and run northeast up path) there is a spot where there are 3 ore and you don't have to move.
