About 5 million CCTV cameras all over the UK is what I heard...Seriously,every time I walk to town,I can feel their eyes burning into me.The police have legal rights to watch you in your own place of residence and at work using CCTV if you so much as walk funny.Great reputation to have.
"And the Award for Most Watched Nation on Earth goes too...THE UK!!!!"
Can you image if they did this in America. I mean people where shitting them selves over the USA PATRIOT Act. I guarantee all of the gun stores would sell out, and crazy ass middle america militia's would go fucking nuts. all of the crazy Timothy McVeigh types and new world order people would start bombing government offices. And NRA members would board themselves up in there homes and sleep with there guns. The people would call our government Communist and probably call for revolution.
There is too much Cameras in the UK, they are probley only good for people to play pranks on them or some people might like to do stupid things infront of them other than that I don't think they really serve a purpose and used as spying agent

think about it daggenham[an area in east london] has more cameras then the whole of new york city.We live on a small island and 80% of the worlds cctv is here does that not scare u soon their gonna be putting cameras in our own homes they treat us like sum experiment and its time the people of the uk realise whats going on around them
Dont worry. Most CCTV systems record at 0.1MP and the quality is that bad, you wouldnt recognise yourself. In order for CCTV to be effective in the fight against crime, the old analogue systems need to give way to the new high definition digital multi-million pixel systems.
I've been filing Freedom of Information requests for just over a year now on Big Brother. I urge others to as well. You just may discover as I did the number of policies, procedures, (Ontario) provincial guidelines and legislation Big Bro violates. Worst, you may find as I did, that no elected official or entity had ever looked into Big Brother's conduct and operations.
You may also discover that your Mr. "If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear" balks at public scrutiny.
They wouldn't allow that Stigmata for reasons of national security. Personally, given the choice between a gun-free surveillance society and an unmonitored society that allows weapons I'd choose the later any day of the week. I don't trust politicians with our welfare. Humans have been the same species since history was recorded and there is tremendous potential for abuse when you strip people of the right to bear arms, protest, and live private lives.
Actually you don't, happenedto me. Most british police are quite friendly to drunks (seen as how they deal with them ALL the time). They told me just to take it easy next time. I wasn;t mugged, just followed as I was staggering bit.
They picked me up to check i didn't need a hospital visit.
I personally like to know that there's someone out there watching me ready to call in the police after I'm walking home after drinking a little too much and an easy target for muggers or youths...
Use CCTV to identify the people involved, through Police databases or local crimewatch schemes, and ensure justice is administered? Common sense really.
The film is not yet available as it will screen at more festivals later this year. However, the film will be available online later this year. It might also be broadcast on a private TV channel in the UK. Keep checking EveryStepYouTake-dot-org for updates on all of this!
I'm glad to announce that EVERY STEP YOU TAKE will have its UK and internatinal premiere at Cambridge Film Festival next month! Check the website EveryStepYouTake-dot-org in a few days for details!!!
well our country like a lot of others is probably most prone to crime. specially at night so i guess its much better to have cameras than not to have. i like the ones that talk to you. hah!
I saw the gangbangers who mugged me a few days later on the bus. The bus was fitted with CCTV but the police didn't manage to get the footage from the bus company...
On the same day, we went into the local off-licence with the police looking for the gang and the shopkeeper told us that they don't record the pictures. Why is CCTV for then?
I dont mind the cameras personally, I got into a very dangerous situations when me and a couple of friends were ambushed and threatened with knives, thankfully the CCTV was on and the police came to our rescue in under a minute.
For the U.S., this is the future. I am stating to see cameras mounted on major highways. It looks like we will have the same problems as other countries.

Most cameras have a metal case.
Have you seen what effect a small but powerful neodinium magnet has on a camera.
Keep smiling.

CCTV only helps solve the case. With light sentencing in the UK the criminal gets off with a caution or a small fine and just re-offends.
Of course the crime rate does not go down.

Anyone supporting this Big Brother CCTV state is an idiot, to be blunt.
I'd go one further and say you're brainwashed. You've been programmed and scared into supporting this.
Anyone supporting CCTV is a brain dead coward. I've had Goldfish with a higher IQ than you.

if thats the case im never using a public toilet again.

Of course there's no alteration in crime rates because of the CCTV. They don't prevent crime, they record it!
