Recognise a stroke: The FAST test

Its because of F.A.S.T that i had a second stroke as the first stroke effected my vision and i lost sight in the upper part of my vision i assumed it could not of been a stroke because FAST did not apply- serfice to say i didnt get it treated and went on to suffer a very serious second stroke which has now destroyed my life......ITS NOT ALWAYS AS SIMPLE AS F.A.S.T.

@dilwich123 I’m sorry to hear about your strokes. I hope you’re receiving the relevant care and treatment you need. The FAST test can be used to recognise the most commonly known symptoms of stroke. But as you know from your own experience, there will be exceptions. You’re right, it’s not always as simple as using FAST, and we hope this test will help people remember the most common signs of stroke and make the public more aware of stroke in general.

This video should be shown all around the world. My stepdad has had 2 strokes and both times I was not there for him. But having know the info I do, I'd like to say that's I'd be able to save a life someday. It's terrible how little people know about this but, myself, I am very very thankful for this video. My stepdad is still recovering, and he is still very sick and also finding it hard to walk/talk, but he's doing well and I'm proud :) thank you for uploading!

I Had A Stroke When I Was10Years Old, Cause By A Blood Vesel That Burst In My Brain. It Was Obv To My Parents That I Had a Stroke, Because My Left Side Went Limp. But I Cant Remember Any Of It. Thankfully I Survied Both The Head Injury & Stroke. I Dont Have All The Feeling Or Physical Ability In My Left Side & I Often Forget To Use My Left Hand,I Drop Alot Of Things That I Hold In My Left Hand & I Trip Alot Because Of My Leg & Foot. Im Now 17 & Still Learning New Things Everyday.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. Strokes vary a great deal in severity and the effects that are experienced as a result. A transient ischaemic attack (TIA) is sometimes known as a mini-stroke, or less often, a minor stroke. The people in the video did not have a TIA, but a full stroke of varying severity.
