I spent a number of years as a casting director in opera and ran a major young artists program, and I can tell you, this is remarkable singing and artistry for someone of 24 years old (even for singers older than that!). Her voice is healthy and beautiful here and she has tremendous artistic nerve. A very special and unique talent even then.

No one would have EVER guessed they were the same person, if not for you telling us. I don't know if I've ever heard a voice sound so different at different ages. The low notes are where you can really hear the similarities. I just can't believe how creamier and heavier it got!  How old was she in 1983?

Wow, this has to be the earliest recording I have ever heard of Renee. She sounds very different! Although she is excellent in this piece, she has since grown tremendously as a soprano.
