also, for "single fader mode" you can just make sure to set the midi cc of your volume fader to 7, and your pan fader to 10, and they should automatically control the currently selected track, always. easy way to setup dedicated fader that doesn't even need a control assignments.

Ok now when I exit out of logic and start it back up I have to assign my transport buttons all over again is this normal or is there a way to save this so I don't have to do this every time I re open the program?

YES YES YES! Thank you, you helped me do something Ive been trying to get for AGES! To do a mix with only one fader and one knob (I have a tiny controller!) Using Single Fader mode setup as shown in the later part of this video, set your fader to control the software fader, & the rotary to control pan. Then when mixer is open, you can step through the channels using L/R arrows on the keyboard, & the fader and rotary will only affect vol & pan of the selected channel. Very economical! Thank you!

I am just assigning them to the pads under the knobs as there are the right amount of pads for what I need. The problem is with a clicking artifact using controls, especially noticeable when using stop or pause. Is it because they are velocity sensitive? Is there a way around this or am I stuck till I get a better midi keyboard?

If i follow the "faders" part of your tutorial, i also end up with channel strip set to "selected track", BUT then every fader does the same.... only change the selected tracks volume. For this "mixing fader" mode, i have to manually set the channel strip setting to the corresponding "fader bank" for each fader.

also i have NO clue what's the point of this "single fader mode", as it's also seem to be "selected track" only.

@fipsfoxy ... the part i don't get about single fader mode. If i set up every fader to change the volume of each track, no matter what track is selected (corresponding faderbanks under channelstrip settings), why make an extra zone to adjust just the selected tracks volume?

pretty sure there's a reason, what's the part that i miss?

Your doing a great job with your video's. I have a problem with the Nano controller,which I bought yesterday.I'm using LP 8 10.6.4 .. When I use midi learn on all my knobs,sliders,ect..When I hit midi learn to get out of assigning my controller nothing is saved.

Hey man.. I have the digi 003 control surface.. All of the controls work fine in Pro Tools, but I want to use it in logic?

The Audio ins/outs i.e. XLR & Jack inputs work fine in logic, But the control surface does not.

Can I do the same thing as you are demonstrating now with it?

I just bought an Akai MPK88 and so far it's been pretty tough going through the setup. The play, stop, rewind, and fast forward buttons went just as you said, but the faders, and knobs don't adjust, hummm, I'm so new to this it's frustrating, otherwise good info bro, thanks.

I am using the Novation Remote 25SL keyboard..... It is a perfect keyboard to control all your synth and plug-ins.... But the version in the tutorial only has 25-keys... You could get one with more keys.... I think it comes with 37 and 61 key models...
