  • Is it me, or is the Director that Daniel punches and ties up at the beginning the same actor that played Specialist Gage, aka 1/2 of Ron Moore's "Yee-Hah Boys" from the Pegasus & Mutiny arcs that gave Helo a beatdown on several occasions?

  • @scarred2112 good eye

  • what's that song name that plays at the end credits its really epic.

  • (Sigh) Another great show cut down just as it was about to enter it's prime, a brilliant story, brilliant actors and a brilliant show.

  • @Jack101f Yes. This is what defines us as a species: cutting off and shutting down creative power, because oftentimes those controlling the purse strings would have to work twice as much to be half as good as those who create. Theirin lies jealousy;the industry will forever value money over creativity any day. Look at the hundreds and hundreds of films SYFY has made that each centre around an enlarged insect, mammal or reptile. These films suck beyond all time but they make money. fukheds.

  • At first I was so happy to see the beggining of Caprica's mythology but I feel like they destroyed it. Why does Zoe have a human shape body ? It's something that the final five gave to the cylons, not the Greystones ! Same thing about the monotheism.

But well, maybe I got this wrong. I haven't seen the last episodes of Caprica.

    Oh, and too much CGI.

  • @wonderaliice In season 2, we would have seen one of the Final Five assisting Zoe in constructing her human-shaped body. Keep in mind that this is just a human SHAPE. The Final Five provided real organic bodies. And in BSG, Ellen Tigh stated that when they found the Centurions in the 12 Colonies, they were pre-disposed to monotheism. That was thanks to Zoe.

  • @waterkeeper511 Oh... Thanks !

  • @waterkeeper511 bow down to the wise...

  • they had roughly human shaped bodies from the start. from that to an organic being able to reproduce with humans is a VERY long way. how is this a problem? and i love CGI.

  • @Ryagful Now I get the "human shaped but not organic" bodies, I just thought that they never had a human shape because the humans never assumed that the cylons can just look like humans.

For the CGI, it's a plague in movies and TV Show (but I do think that it's a great tachnology advance). My personal opinion. Because I focus on it, and on the fact that it's not real. And it also gives me a headache. And in a lot of films (not Caprica), the effects are hiding a lack of senario.

  • how did you thought they never had human shaped bodies? they always had human shaped bodies, only Zoe had a suit of plastic or some-sort to cover hers. CGI can make a show or movie better. take BSG. most of the series is CGI, and godsdamn is it cool! however yeah, a lot of films just use CGI to hide its shitty story (im looking at you Avatar!). just keep in mind that CGI is just a tool. if its used it with propel story and acting, its a good tool. if not, you get Avatar.

  • @Ryagful Well, they have metallic whatever... and organic real bodies but hey, I said that I haven't seen ALL Caprica. Now I see they had something between those 2.

For the CGI : Yes it can make a show better when it's good and justified, never said anything bad about BSG, i wouldn't dare. I just prefer when there are real setting (you can compare BSG to Sanctuary, it's pretty obvious). Actually I'd rather see close ups and not a lot of different places than a very apparent CGI.

  • well for that matter, the first 3 STAR WARS movies had no CGI, or at least extremely limited as i recall, but look how it turned out. its ships, planets, species...all were gorgeous, and nothing but real settings ans props. just....amazingly realistic. but most shows, including Stargate, Farscape, Firefly and Dr Who used CGI to grate effect and its quite realistic. point is, you have to use it right. there's a right time, a right way and its all dependent your story. bad story makes CGI obvious

  • @Ryagful Agree.

It's just that BSG/Caprica, BSG had less cgi, and this difference makes me say that Caprica had too much of it. Caprica's intro, no matter how beautiful it is, is a bit uncomfortable.

But as I already said, it's my personal opinion.

  • The problem was that the story was way to slow in the beginning and middle. Syfy didnt even air the last episodes from my recollection. I mean they were/are awesome when I saw on netflix. The story for the next season where Cykons are now part of everyday life was very well done. I think this nest season would have been good.

  • @MusiqheadRadio Well lets just hope the new series will be better. Chrome & Blood.

  • this show was worse than FireFly... good riddance

  • @black25330

That's rather negative, and I humbly disagree.

  • Lol at Mark Donelly singing the national anthem. Reminds me of the Canucks.

  • why are the terrorists who just got killed, are appearing in VR?

  • @DSkehan2004

Because it was the plan for everyone who died, including the terrorists to end up in a virtual 'heaven'. Clarice is a control freak ;)

  • @Gishankes - The whole " Virtual Heaven " idea is something that I had trouble with. You can create a virtual " spirit " / avatar to go to " Heaven " by using scraps of information from subscription lists, medical / health records, IQ tests, movie preferences, survey choices, etc ? I think Zoey's way of originally using biofeedback* was at least marginally more scientifically accurate ( * i.e. : a neuro - scan ) & a tad more " realistic " than piecing together a persona from personal data.

  • @knoxvilleguy2 It doesn't make any logical sense. Much like how in the real world terrorist believe they'll go to heaven for killing scores of people. It is a just an alogory.

  • @knoxvilleguy2 well they did state in several episodes that this way of creating a avatar isnt accurate. It didnt capture the essence of the person and had flaws. Thats why they were hunting for Zoey in the first place, to find out what she did different.

  • @MusiqheadRadio What they could create in the way of avatars was just a halfway - reasonable facsimile at best. For a more realistic virtual personality, you'd need to recreate every memory & scan every neuron in a person's nervous system.

  • that's the national anthem?

  • 10:49 What's is the name of the music?... Seems some version of the opening... can't find it =/

  • Thanks for uploading! Gods, I miss Caprica.

  • :40 Man that Varro from the Lucian Alliance sure gets around....Vancouver...
