I apologize, but I don't learn very visually like this. I would much rather read the sheet music. Do you have any idea where I can get it? Thanks so very much for posting this. I enjoyed it very much.
@Lot2learn Ok!! Thanks a lot. Once again, great playing. I hope to be as good with improvising as you are one day. BTW, your use of the pentatonics at 2:20 is genius.
Nice blend of tertian and quartal sounds! You have a broad vocabulary and it's always a pleasure to hear your stuff. When you say "pull" on the beat, you mean lay way back (create a delay) against the time, right?
Really nice playing, a favorite that I also like to perform. What's your source since your line doesn't match the 58 Harold Land version which I would think would be closest to Carl Perkins' conception since he plays on it & it's the first recording?
I assume you transcribe it as it's in the original key, like the 61 Montgomery Brothers take. The only printed chart and sources I find on the internet incorrectly put the tune in G minor instead of Eb minor along with many incorrect changes.
this video is AWESOME! I always tell young cats how to improvise. It's telling a story and starting out too fast kills the anticipation. This is really neat stuff...love it.
Once again an amazing performance. It's funny because the first thing I noticed in the video was that watch that I hadn't noticed before. Keep it up! do you play with any bands or anything?
I use a Videocam on tripod above piano for video. Audio for the FP-4 Piano is being recorded direct into my computer through an M-Audio 1010LT sound card.
Absolutely wonderful, I'd love to have an MP3 of this recording! It's absolutely a great example of why I've always been a fan of people who understand push-pull and playing just a touch behind the beat. This seriously swings. I just caught myself tapping my foot and bobbing my head without thinking about it.
Sweet, so they have a real bass now and not just drums in BiaB. I'll have to check it out! I was waiting for this to come so I could really use it again and make backing tracks for all the stuff Aebersold doesn't cover.
I wish Aebersold had stuff from Chick Corea like Spain and that Rumbata piece which name I've forgotten.

Annotation was done with my video editing program - it is a little easier for me to do it all at the same time.

Thanks Dan.
I enjoy your playing and that great Rhodes of yours as well.

Thanks. The fat Rhodes tone makes me sound a lot better than I really am! I actually posted a new video this morning if you're interested.

Thanks Dave. Yeah, Eb Minor - gotta love it. I've heard Daahoud but never played it. I'll have to re-visit it.

Thank you Professor V for elaborating on that astute observation. I do concur. ;-)

When you said "use space" I kept hitting the space bar. Nothing happened. I think there is a programming error in your video.
