@phantomlord54That is IF they had the reruns and NOT remakes. Network exeutives don't care what the audience wants they care what the advertizers want. That's why I get 99% of my entertainment online.
I'd love to predict that if NBC were to take the bold step and dedicate EVERY Wednesday night to classic reruns of the REAL network TV that so many millions of us so dearly love, miss, and long to see again - 80s TELEVISION - it would be a ratings juggernaut
really a stupid show...how can you believe a show set in a bar where none of the regulars ever get drunk or have a drinking problem? I could never get past that.
@oceangirlsch But nobody was EVER SHOWN BEING DRUNK. Isn't that kind of asking for too much suspension of disbelief for a TV show SET FOR ITS ENTIRE RUN IN A BAR?
@unclebobunclebob I aggre it is strange it was funny though cause i havnt watched it in forever and when I was yesterday is when i looked up this video to hear the whole opening song. I saw your comment and it was an episode where Sam had fallen of the wagon (Shelly Long was still in the cast). It is probably the only one where someone is drunk and if that episode hadnt been on when I saw ur comment I would not have remembered it. I just thought it was a funny coincidence. I aggre with u though.
@unclebobunclebob There are quite a few episodes where some characters got drunk. I remember Frasier, Norm and Sam drunk. Diane and Rebecca were as well
The Cheers opening theme is all over youtube... and you just re-posted it, in the shittiest quality imaginable... a camera filming the TV. You're pathetic.
I thought the last scene from the opening credits on the last episode of Cheers was of Frasier throwing his hands up at Cliff's mistake of admitting he has to hide his secret desires for Kim Alexis from his meddling mom he still lives with??
This is one of the few things that my dad and I shared a common interest in during my teen years. It gave us common ground when there was little of it.
I remember when this came on at Nick @ Nite, I used to hate it! Lol, but I used to watch it with my grandma anyway, turns out it was pretty funny. And I love this song! Idk why, but ever since I heard it on the new Dr.Pepper commercial, I cant get it out of my head! :p
Well I have 3 channels; 8,11, &13, and one of those is french. But I dont come on here and bitch about it in a desperate attempt at gaining sympathy from strangers in the youtube comments.
I still remember the night this show aired. It was senior year - on the same night as my last HS orchestra performance, and our teacher said, "I know you'd all rather be home watching the final episode of Cheers..." I taped it (yes, VHS) and probably still have the original tape around somewhere. I remember feeling really empty when the show ended.
Yeah this aired during my SR year and I still can't believe it's been 16 years. Damn I'm starting to feel old! Oh I also taped it on VHS and I still have the tape.
quite a few episodes. like the song says it was a place you could go and be welcome all the time. it was like visiting with old friends...pretty damn funny friends. NORM!!!
That's weird when Cheers is shown on TV Land they just shorten it and skip to the "Sometimes you wanna go" and just take out the begging of it but here they play the begging of that song and I've even seen the Series finale.
They usually do that on syndication so they can get more commercials in. There are no theme songs anymore because the producers don't want people changing channels.
If you were born in 1990, you would of been alive during Cheers' last four seasons. Not exactly a classic to me and I was born in 1981, but a modern classic.
I know they couldn't have put Coach's name up there, but it WOULD have been neat to put Nicholas Colasanto's name up there just for old time's sake with it being the final episode of Cheers though.
in one episode you can see sam and dianne holding back tears i loved that show and coach was great god i waish he was still alive they called him uncle whitey
They couldn't have added Bebe's because she had left the show mid-way through the last season to be on Broadway. But I do agree with you on the Ted/Shelly Credit. For nostalgia sake
80s and 90s show will always be the best

At the end, who is the kid with the red hat holding his drink?
Do these people have names or a story that is known?
I love his image, cocky, ambitious, youth ready to take on the world.
His face says it all.
