RainX does not work. Just tried it and no-worky. Don't worry, I tested on some cheapo sunglassed. I ran water on all of my other Oakleys and my wifes Oakleys and they all produced the same results as yours without applying the coating. Do they come with the coating now? Tried it on: Fuel Cell, Gascan, Inmate, Eyepatch, Ravishing, and Belong.

@jason82180 lol i used tht stuff you can buy at shoe stores that repels water for your shoes on some cheapo dollar store sunglasses and it amazingly works for how long idk but it was fun to do

Yes, it is just a coating that is on the surface, being polarized doesn't have any significance

i cant seem to buy Hydrophobic Replacement lenses for oil rigs. so im guessing they dont exist. do u know? because i cant find anything specific, but lenses i KNOW that are hydrophobic the replacements don't say so? like the MINUTE 2.0

well for starters its 9 mins. long put the liquid on the cloth aplly to lens let dry and wipe off your done....

is the coating permanent? or do you have to reapply after a while?

Good Question!, It is actually only permanent if the glasses come hydrophobic (there will be a blue sticker on the lens), but with the kit you have to reapply it, to start out put 4-5 coats on, then every once in a while put a new coat on. It isn't real hard though, the bottle looks small but for one coating you only need a few drops for each lens.

theres actually an activator that oakley sells also that needs to be applied at least every 3 months...like an oil change..... its a spray on application

be careful when cleaning your glasses with the outside of the oakley bag. i was told by the salesperson who sold me my oil rigs that the outside collects dirt, so if you use the bag use the inside to clean if not using the oakley cleaning kit. ;)

OK. I read this a few days ago and thought it was a very good idea and that it would work. But after thinking about it more i realized that you are going to clean them from the inside, getting the inside all dirty, then you put the glasses in it, making them dirty again, and in the meantime the outside of the bag is getting dirty which is what you where trying to avoid in the first place. So go tell the sales person they are very wrong. But you can clean them however you want. [not to be mean]

I got the kit at a ski shop that retails Oakley, I would assume you could get it at sunglasses hut though, I have never been to one so i couldn't tell ya, just order it from Oakley if not.
