I remember sharing the exact same concerns as Greenwald when this information was initially released. I learned in school, that Journalism is supposed to be antagonistic towards the government, and reveal proof of wrongdoing from within the state. Yet, here in Denmark as well, the initial reaction from almost all media was one of skepticism boarding on hostility, even from our patriots of free speech: Jyllands-Posten, who posted cartoons in the name of free press! It disgusts me.

Mica, WHY should Assange step aside - it's his owned company. Daniel D-berg STOLE info from Wikileaks and collaborated with USG & Guardian..... proves Assange was right..... Daniel D-berg started his own organization and the difference is Daniel D-berg is NOT honest but Wikileaks Julian Assange has always been honest..... shame on Daniel D-berg.

Mica Sifry is wrong, Wikileaks is not "broken." Julian Assange is not finished.

He remains a leading figurehead of the new progressive movement. Sifry is voicing the establishment view by making that statement, and he's playing into the establishment's hands by spreading disempowering comments like that. I wonder who's side he's really on when he comes out with bullshit like that.

@exadverso Mica, if you'll remember Ben Bradlee editor WashPost was "broken". He controlled Watergate news which gave us "all the president's men". He alone gave the OK [the go-ahead] behind *locked doors* on the "break-in" story ordered by Nixon administration - Nixon administration could not stop him. Ben Bradlee editor is now part of an Old Time Investigative Journalist reporting system - Wash Post is no longer that.

i see humanity as desperately homicidal / suicidal and ...helpless and hopeless. i see humanity as doomed and condemned. every person needs to be busy and occupied (business and occupation). we all need to have something to do with our resources (time, attention, awareness, consciousness, energy). i believe the world cannot be united, cannot be healed, cannot be restored and cannot be helped. i believe crime and violence are TRUE human nature and cannot and will not EVER end.

@robertk1968 I know its easier to watch Alex Jones yell, "NWO!" but maybe you should watch and listen to some of these respected journalists and intellectuals, you might learn some actual facts about crimes, corruption and atrocities carried out or supported by our governments on a daily basis. @phazemekaniks Thank you for your amuzing guess work with regards to my personal experiences when gathering information, my point with these so called respected journalists and intellectuals is while listening to all of these guys over the years in different reports and I have found, especially with Democracy Now, on many occasions tha their inability to clearly define their parimeters of who and what they represent seems to be blurred, thus my comments on democracy.
