The Xia is actually still disputed of whether it actually belongs in han chinese history. This argument started in the early 1900's.
If China has difficulty in proving Xia's existence, then it is totally impossible for Koreans to prove their history beyond Xia dynasty which is the furthest-away dynasty Chinese admitted in its history (around 5000 years ago). The problem is that Koreans cannot just use fables and myths as proof of its over 6/7000 year history. Koreans need to present some hard objects as a proof that a civilized and systematically organized Korean society existed that long time ago....
Plus, one difficulty is that Koreans cannot use some evacuated objects that could only prove the existence of pre-historical human activities in current Korean territory to prove the existence of its civilized history and to claim that current Koreans are necessarily the descendents of these pre-historical human beings. If that could be done, then so many other countries can claim much longer history than they currently do...

Some ancient buildings in northern China is infact from Goguryeo... with hard evidence. But the chinese government doesn't tell their people and deny it. But they were Chinese in the sense that Chinese cultures and languages were offically adopted by the rulers and Chinese intellectuals were hired as the major part of the government officals, and eventually the whole population was assimilated into the whole Han population. However, it looks Koreans were even proud of some wars in which Koreans were wretchedly defeated, such as the war between Kogory and Tang, in which Tang totally destroyed it...
china's actual history begins in the qin dynasty when the Huangdi built the wall to keep its powerful neighbors away. The great wall u see today was rebuilt during Ming dynasty which wasn't too long ago. Also regarding the northeast, han chinese have only had hold of the northeast for a relatively short time compared to the other dynasties that existed there. China real has become the laugh of the academic world since its overt initiation of the projects.
The Great Wall we currently see was not built in Qin Dynasty. But it does not mean the one built at that time did not exist at all. China's history could be traced back to Xia (so not limited to the unified Qin). But I know according to Korean history textbooks, Korea has a history of more than 6000 years. But it is clearly not recognized by the international community....So such a history only exists in Korean people's mind....

GDP is all relative. Of course a big country has higher GDP than a smaller country. So China's GDP is higher than Canada or South Korea but I rather live in these two latter country than China. Much higher quality of life.

Well, I am not much familiar with most of those besides the Chinese language and Confucius. The only reason these are still up and is being argued on is the fact that China didn't prove it, now did they? The Northeastern Asia Project where Chinese claim Goguryeo is not Korean? That project officially ended a while ago because it was proven more Korean. The writing, there is a turtle shell with chinese characters found where Chinese hadn't migrated to.

In terms of the northeastern project, I personally have no interest in Goguryeo. Perhaps it is neither part of Chinese nor Korean history. Perhaps, it is a long gone tribe just like 契丹(I hope you can read Chinese) and its people are now spread within China and Korea.
Again, it is just MY OPINION. The final judgement should be based on the facts and supported by professional historican worldwide.

However, what the Korean ultra-nationalists' claim are based on their "opinions". When asking for evidences, they said the evidences were burnt by the Japanese during the WWII.

also shibownbown, contrary to what u think, after goguryeo's collapse, the majority of goguryeo people did not flee to tang because they would have been persecuted. instead they made up the numerous rebellions and riots and were ultimately a part of the rise of Balhae. Balhae also refered to themselves as Goryeoguk. After Balhae collapsed, the ethnic koreans as well as the royal family of Balhae fled to Goryeo where they were openly taken in because they were from the same lineage. I myself am a part of that bloodline. Korea does however have a rather long history and it can be proven. It dates as far back as the jeulmun and mumun periods when proof of an existing culture was uncovered.

Also uve fail to see that Tang was unable to supress Goguryeo. Tang alone could not have collapsed Goguryeo because china's record aginst that particular korean kingdom was too poor. Goguryeo was destroyed no matter how many sporadic uprisings happened after its collapse. The majority of the population fled further south into the Tang territory and some part chose to move to the other two kingdoms on the penisula.Tang and Goguryeo were always two belligerent countries. When China was weak and in a disunified state Goguryeo always took advantage of that to encroach China's territory although in ancient time there was no strict standard for country territory as right now.

Its not just koreans that are pissed off. The PRC has claimed Genghis Khan to be of Han chinese origin and that just about infuriated mongolians. Also recent attacks on turks are starting to rise up with, once again, flimsy arguments from the side of the PRC. The Xia is actually still disputed of whether it actually belongs in han chinese history. This argument started in the early 1900's.

If China has difficulty in proving Xia's existence, then it is totally impossible for Koreans to prove their history beyond Xia dynasty which is the furthest-away dynasty Chinese admitted in its history (around 5000 years ago). The problem is that Koreans cannot just use fables and myths as proof of its over 6/7000 year history. Koreans need to present some hard objects as a proof that a civilized and systematically organized Korean society existed that long time ago....

Plus, one difficulty is that Koreans cannot use some evacuated objects that could only prove the existence of pre-historical human activities in current Korean territory to prove the existence of its civilized history and to claim that current Koreans are necessarily the descendents of these pre-historical human beings. If that could be done, then so many other countries can claim much longer history than they currently do...

Some ancient buildings in northern China is infact from Goguryeo... with hard evidence. But the chinese government doesn't tell their people and deny it. You say Koreans believe is Korean myths, and you have hard evidence for everything for you? Those buildings for example is an example of denial from Chinese Government. Both sides have rights and wrongs. I'm Korean and I know that some of korean myths are just made up to make certain peopel feel good. But Koreans know what is right as well.

dynasties such as the liao, yuan, qing,... etc which weren't ruled under ethnic Han chinese are discussed extremely briefly in PRC textbooks. the wars not in favor of Han china are either shown in mere mention, its fixed, or it not mentioned at all.

These dynasties were not ruled by Han Chinese. But they were Chinese in the sense that Chinese cultures and languages were offically adopted by the rulers and Chinese intellectuals were hired as the major part of the government officals, and eventually the whole population was assimilated into the whole Han population. However, it looks Koreans were even proud of some wars in which Koreans were wretchedly defeated, such as the war between Kogory and Tang, in which Tang totally destroyed it...

china's actual history begins in the qin dynasty when the Huangdi built the wall to keep its powerful neighbors away. The great wall u see today was rebuilt during Ming dynasty which wasn't too long ago. Also regarding the northeast, han chinese have only had hold of the northeast for a relatively short time compared to the other dynasties that existed there. China real has become the laugh of the academic world since its overt initiation of the projects.

The Great Wall we currently see was not built in Qin Dynasty. But it does not mean the one built at that time did not exist at all. China's history could be traced back to Xia (so not limited to the unified Qin). But I know according to Korean history textbooks, Korea has a history of more than 6000 years. But it is clearly not recognized by the international community....So such a history only exists in Korean people's mind....

also know that PRC has distorted its own history books to cover up some embarrassing events. Even scholars in Taiwan found it amusing that the PRC thinks this is an "academic" approach. I've sifted through some chinese textbooks from the PRC china and some of the things they've either fixed or left out is just ridiculous. all in all they claim they had a superiority complex over all nations that werent han chinese. the yuan and qing are discussed rather briefly.

shibownbown first off the hanfu and hanbok were different in their own ways. if u take a close look the hanbok, hanfu, and kimono are pretty close except a few differences. next, who the hell says the world is korean. we didn't claim that, i do know for a fact though that the PRC pretty much pissed off all its neighbors through its "academic" projects so i wouldn't go around talking trash thinking that the world revolves around china.

Possibly Kim and Chung are not Chinese by nature. But what I know for sure is that even after the demise of Ming Dynasty, your government officials still more than willingly (or even proudly) wore Chinese costumes (you can see that from so many Korean TV dramas). OK, they are your descendents. But it was also they who forced you to contribute women as sex toys to them (or possibly abduting government officials' daughters and wives) before they usurped the Chinese throne. IF you are thinking it of that sense, then actually the world conquerors are Viets (not necessarily Vietnamese, but Viets). The Viet tribes (known to most of the world as Yue originated in Tonkin, Guangxi, and Guangdong. Each tribes migrated elsewhere and became various known cultures today (Laotian, Cambodian, Manchurian, Korean). Only one group of Viets kept the Viet name and that is Vietnam today.

Korean and Manchurian culture is very different from that of the vietnamese culture. In terms of genetics we are more closely related to that of the members of the altaic family.

and despite ur claim that these various tribes spread out. they are not part of korean history. The Samhan and Dongyi tribes are the makeup of korean history. u r right tho, the viet origin is largely based on the Yue people however it is seperated by a long shot from that of the eastern tribes. Vietnamese history is more closely tied to that of the indochinese countries such as Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia.
