I was driving the TVR. I braked as normal, the pedal was initially hard then almost immediately went to the floor. I pumped the brakes but it didn't slow the car. I knew I was going to crash, and headed across the infield for the tyre wall, unfortunately the Saxo came arround the track at the same time. When we got back to the paddock, we found that the main front brake circuit pipe had burst due to rubbing against the clutch pipe over time and sprayed the brake fluid around the engine bay.

That isnt just 'brake fade' - you can feel the brakes fading and you make allowences for it. They dont just all of a sudden stop working. The driver should have had a cool down lap and let the brakes cool before pushing again - better yet, fit some proper bloody discs/pads & fluid so they don't fade and cause accidents! The saxo driver was probably a young lad with an affordable hot hatch at an organized track day - not an idiot joyrider on your local streets! Some respect please, jesus.

There is many other things that TVR driver could of considered to do instead of crashing into someone else car.. For example a handbrake is there for a reason your stearing wheel could of been one? Gear changes to low? Perhaps if he wanted to crash try the tyre wall? fml bad drivers

Saxo Fail. I believe the story about the TVR, it's probably not uncommon. Thankfully it means another Saxo off the road. Unless the chav owner fixed it up and it driving a Cat C on the road or something, which is more likely.

Agreed, When brake-fade occurs and locks up, you're pretty much a passenger. Most Track days require the owners to sign waivers to state that they're on track at they're own risk or provide the correct documents for insurance.

@JuggyLuggs No offence was intended to you, honestly. Unfortunately I have only ever seen Saxos with Chav owners being driven dangerously - being a member of a certain website have seen countless tales of these cars being modified, crashed, then repaired and sold on again.

I wouldn't say Novas are really chav cars anymore - there aren't really enough of them left. I would say early 3 series BMWs, Saxos (sorry, but I do see a hell of a lot of them driven by twunts) and yes Corsas.

Novas arent chav cars so much anymore - there's barely any left. Most common ones I see are 3 series Beemers, Saxos, Pugs and Corsas

He must have felt brake fade kicking in before that corner, his line was not one which should be taken in such a situation, he looks as though he was intending to take the saxo on the inside, with fading brakes. I would have thought the TVR driver would have agreed he'd driven poorly. Lighten up chuckles

Apparently the TVR suffered extreme brake-fade going into that corner.

Thats a bad bit of bad luck for the saxo driver, but that is the risk when you go on a trackday, sadly it doesn't allways go well!

Just be glad it happened in a slower section and everyone was allright.
