I saw this thing at Costco yesterday for like $50. Almost bought it so I could use it to inspect the crawl space of my house and under our low back porch. Not sure how well the camera would work for that, but it sure beats trying to climb under there. The idea I could attach a squirt gun to it is nice, since I'd need something like that to annoy the heck out of the possum living in my backyard.

Cool, i didnt know that you could program it. I know c and c++ already from school and some arduino microcontroller stuff. Super easy language. I think that it is easier than basic for some reason.

14:the trakr camera magnifies about 2X. the only time it doesn't is when recording video, but everytime else, it magnifies, making it difficult to control the thing. i suggest you remove this and design it with a small switch on the controller that can be used at any time, in any mode, to magnify the camera, up to 10X.

12:the front wheels don't have motors. i suggest you give the trakr all-wheel drive, and add a bunch of extra wheels in-between the main four wheels, like a tank!

13:there is no sound in "video recorder" or "picture taker". i suggest you change this.

10:the trakr cannot survive underwater. i suggest you make it waterproof so it

can survive for long periods under water.

8:i would not trust the path mapper if i were you, as it only records the engine movements, which i have found that even when i put the trakr in the same spot i started recording the path, it still bumps and drives into something, not on course at all. change this to a GPS system to map a route so it will map out a new route if an obstacle that it cannot get through is in the way and then we'll talk.

6: the video feed goes into a screen onto the controller, instead of the very advantageous private headset.

7:there is a speaker on the remote, instead of the very advantageous ear bud for stealth listening-in.

4:the sd card is in the vehicle, meaning the vehicle must be ON for you to view the files from the remote. this could be solved by putting the sd card slot in the trakr remote and having the apps on the remote and have the remote connect to the computer instead.

5:the antennna is sticking up to much, mean there are many things the trakr can't go under a lot of things. to solve this, try to redesign the trakr like the video ATV 360, with the flexible antennna.

1:night vision is not very good, and could be improved with a bunch of IR LEDS in a ring around the camera, instead of just one big IR LED.

2:the trakr is nearly half the size of past spy gear video cars, meaning weaker motors, and less capability for overcoming obstacles. if it were made as big as the spy video atv 360, the trakr would be much more capable and could have a better camera, and a robot arm.

3:the trakr has been made too wide, much more than previous spy gear video cars.

Sadly, no.. the remote does not have a microphone. The TRAKR base does, (behind the white dot in the front-right side.) There is a pre-made 'Voice Thrower' app, which allows you to record a 6-second sound byte (8000 Hz Mono sampling).. Mine seems to have either a bad condenser mic element, or the hole through, is too small. But it will record. the voice thrower, then allows you to move the TRAKR, then press either the A or B button, to play that sound from the TRAKR's speaker.

@taichiization : Yes.. there does seem to be a glitch, or saving bandwidth.. the sound shuts down whenever you're moving the vehicle. I imagine saving bandwidth for the video so you can see where it's going. Once you stop, it begins transmitting audio again, back to the remote. the audio is switchable on/off from the remote as well. (single pushbutton.) It would be great, adding something to the Mini-5Pin-B socket inside the remote.. But, time will tell. I'm still viewing the schematics!

@shauku77 have you heard of the air hogs hawkeye that spy helicopter. airhogs had it recalled because of some asshole had to fly it into sombodys house to take a snap shot of a women in here birthday suit and flew it back. but the helicopter is back on store shelves but on thing differnet they severly cut its range from 200 ft down to a range of 50ft now. this spy trakr i dont know yet but i am sure they will recall it sooner or later due to an asshole.
