  • An Excellent Video! The use of the strobe is very interesting. I got the same resulting waves when I hooked mine up to a scope, but your explantion of what's happenning in the wave is inspiring! Thank You! I'm subscribing! The mess in the Gulf should be inspiring all of us "Pulse-Heads"!

  • Thanks for this great display of what goes on inside the SSG. My background is in automobiles and we used to use a scope to watch the points in the ignition circuit open and close. This is very sililar. John Bedini gave us a great gift and all of us who honor him by building an SSG and then sharing what we learned need to be thanked.

  • Excellent video and fantastic setup with the LED strobe and the scope display. This is the first video on YouTube that I have seen in months of looking at pulse motor clips that actually demonstrates some of what is going on with a scope. The strobe is icing on the cake.

    There is a serious question implied by what is being shown here. Why do you get two and three pulses at the lower speeds? I think I know why but I am not building pulse motors. Somebody should try to answer it.

  • If you can easily replicate this setup then I can suggest an important investigation and I suggest that you make another clip from it.

    Keep the same setup on your scope and keep the strobe. With your second channel of the scope, look at the waveform across the pick-up coil. That should help explain why you are getting double and triple-pulses at lower speeds.

  • Very nice video. The inductor coil goes between the positive of the primary battery and (c) on the transistor?

  • That's a brilliant demonstration! Thank you! I have just tried the strobe on my set up but it is a bit complicated at the moment since I am using an all south pole configuration so the coil is pulsing between the magnets. will make a video of mine with the strobe this weekend. though I can say now that it is pulsing twice per magnet (not possible to force single pulses) and with a bit more tuning it is now at 2860 rpm and drawing 240ma! I'll have it running on a lemon by next week!

  • THANK YOU !!!!!!! I never had anyone explain this so well and simply before. So one lead to primary battery one lead to the (c) of the transistor.
