The two were different to be sure. This one was more faithful to the original comics in it's dark style and more action-oriented pacing while the 1987 series (which I grew up with) was more along the lines of the other '80s Saturday morning cartoons. Corny jokes with a totally awesome theme song!

@tmntuploader: Not every Turtles fan has to like EVERY incarnation, you tool. Fast Foward BASTARDIZED the 2k Turtles just like the later seasons of the 80s show RUINED the 1987 Turtles. Hence why Turtles Forever merged BOTH in order to appease BOTH generations, BEFORE Mirage Comics sold out to Viacom.

The '03 cartoon is way closer to the Original Turtles than any of the old movies and the old cartoon are. TMNT are badass fighters, and not some wacky clowns. They should be serious.
