A classic Maxin with a Detroit Diesel, a real classic Q with a nice growl, Mars 888, and Grovers on the roof....doesn't get much better! Thanks for sharing!
I remember about 10 years ago some company near Norristown, PA had a fair behind their firehouse and they had their 1971 Maxim F-model on display. It had a 6V-53 in it. Loved how that engine sounded when the driver revved it a few times. CLASSIC!!
The original engine was a 6 cylinder Waukesha gasoline engine. (I need to confirm the spelling on the engine.) The current engine is a Detroit Diesel 6N71T, 6 cylinder diesel engine.
Thanks for the info. The common Waukesha gas engine for trucks that size was an 817 cubic inch 6 that was rated at 300 HP. The Detroit 6-71T is rated at 265 HP.

It was originally gas powered. Underpowered beefed it up with a diesel.

That sounds like a Detroit Diesel 6-71 or 6V-92TA engine.
