a ha you should see that gay film 'the last testament of George Harrison paul is really dead' they fixed this to make it sound like Faul gay highway entertainment.
LOL, did anyone else see the "Paul McCartney Really Is Dead" so-called documentary? (If not, it claims to be George Harrison's final testament.) I mean really, they went as far to replace the p in Paul from this interview with an f, so he would say "Faul" as in "false Paul".
The film was pretty comical. XP I wonder what wonder what Paul McCartney thinks of it.
@IchibodCrane Not only that but in the documentary "George Harrison" talks about the let it be album after Abbey Road. Meanwhile any Beatle fans knows that Let It Be was made before Abbey Road. Its just retarted. Pisses me off some one would pretend to be Harrison and claim Paul is dead. The only weird thing that is true is that in the magical mystery tour sleeve their is a picture of the band and Paul looks really weird.
@rmr355 IKR? I gave up on taking it seriously at all from about the point where "George Harrison" said that the recording was made the day after he was stabbed in the lung. How could he talk so well with severely damaged lugs? XP Couldn't even do a Liverpudlian accent...
this whole discussion started with george and it was george that got me on the path so long ago that led me to where i am today. so you know.....God bless
and yes everything can be obtained through meditaion. its actually the only way. but i recommend you read up on methods first. if you sit down today and try, you'll just drive yourself crazy with racing thoughts. but DO NOT read anything from the west. India and India only. also, i have like poured tons and tons of eastern spirituality onto you that takes years to truly understand so take a breather.
when you are in that heavenly place here on earth, you feel your awareness one with the divine. after you die you no longer feel one with the divine. you are divinity.
now, the Lord and heaven are the same. so if you reach that state of heaven, that is perfect unity with the Lord. this prepares you for death so your soul wont have to come back again and again. it will merge with the divine and stay there forever and ever. your head rested in your Maker's lap as gandhi once said. as for george, he was one withthe Lord. there is no question there. he had imperections in the rest of his human existance as we all do but thats irrelivant really.
I've always thought that he was the most intelligent one of the four. Even in the early days of the Beatles his intellect and quick wit were evident. He is my favourite Beatle and I was so sad when he died. George Harrison - a truly good and honest man!
I wish I knew how to acheive the spirituality that George Harrison obviously possessed. I look at him, and I want whatever it is that he had. Inner peace, is what it is. How does one GET there? It is in his eyes. It is in his mannerisms. It is in his words. The word "humble" in the dictionary should have his picture next to it. The epitome of honesty. I hope he knows how we feel about him. Maybe someday I will have the opportunity to simply tell him myself. I'd really like that.
inner peace is something that naturally comes from spiritual growth that george obviously had, as you said. but inner peace is not the final goal, only a small part of the whole thing. what you want to reach for is that place from which we all came, you, me, george, my dog, the ocean, everything. it is heaven on earth that anyone can get to. its not inner peace because where there is inner peace, there is inner war. this place transcends this polarity. its perfect unity with the Lord. home.
Being humans, is it even possible to be in PERFECT unity with the Lord? Even George had imperfections when it came to the subject of unity with the Lord...and George was pretty serious about the Lord. As serious as anyone I'VE ever been witness to. Is PERFECT unity with the Lord is even obtainable from the human standpoint? (Unless you are referring to home as in heaven.) This subject, and anything that pertaining to it, has always confused the hell out of me. (Pardon the pun)
the answer to your question is yes. it is the one and only benefit of being human. this heaven or home as i like to call it is a conscienceness where everything is stripped away and there is nothing but the Creator and the created. all of your own bullshit is gone. From there you realize that the Creator and the created are one and that is heaven. if you were to stay in this state, you would eventually just dissapear but most come back so they can teach. its called a jagad guru.
the physical plane is an illusion and is transcended completely in this state but i know what you are asking and the answer is YES. if you knew how, you could go sit on the floor or lay on the couch right now and be in heaven, one with God. will you be able to today? NO because it takes years of work. we do this to train our souls to leave this body at death and merge with that divinity forever. you practice and get a taste while youre here so you can stay there for eternity after death
somewhat. in astral projection, you are still trying to be "you" just outside your own body. its just more feeding of your ego. in these meditative states im talking about, that "you" which regular folks identify with as themselves such as " i am bob the 55 year old man who likes pancakes and surfing" is completely gone. you are nothing but awareness. no body, no mind, just soul.
Ahhh....to let go of ego. It's all about that damned ego. SELF. To be selfish....to be self-centered....to be self-righteus..OR, to be SELFLESS. The act of putting others before your SELF. I get it completely. And this is achieved through a meditative state? Meditation is the key, I take it.
you got it. but you cant let the putting of others before yourself feed your ego. see, its a trap. if you let the person behind you in line go first and think "well now look how selfless i am. boy im a good person" thats just as bad. you wont think thats what you are doing but you are. and the ego is not just "im better than you" it is also when you think "i am eating a peanut butter sandwhich" . start thinking "i am the eating of a peanut butter sandwhich"
Which brings up another point. Why does there have to be so many "traps" involved in spiritual enlightenment? How would one KNOW without a doubt that their motives are pure? I suppose you have to train yourself to always say and think "I am the LETTING of the person go ahead of me in line".....right? I suppose after you say and think like that long enough, it just IS....?
the reason is because it can not happen without an inner struggle. it just cant. and trust me, the higher you get, the harder you fall. its those fierce lions guarding the inner gates. but dont worry, it only makes you grow
Say batman are you also a batman fan,cos I just enjoyed reading your post here about George I am also a George fan and do miss him alot ..and Paul what could I say about him George said it best Hypocrite even today.
my friend i also just wanted to say, i would not have talked to you so much about this if i couldnt tell your motives are pure. i never talk to anyone about these things. so how are ya. its been a while
I appreciate your time and effort. The topic of our discussion is something I ponder a great deal. I always intend to do my own research and experiment in more depth with spirituality/meditation....but life just seems to keep getting in the way. (Ha) My intentions are pure, though, I can assure you. Thanks again.
Please forgive my mistakes in grammar. I went over my alotted amount of words, and in correcting it, I inadvertantly left in words I should have taken out. I hope you got my drift anyway.
A great interview. Thank you for posting! I love all of the Beatles. I never knew that Paul McCartney did not show up for the Beatles' induction into the Hall of Fame.
There is no beatle I respected more than George with his down to earth realness and his out of this world coolness. An amazingly sleek and classy guy.
This is the most open and elongated interview I've ever seen with George. I think he had really come to grips with his post-Beatles status, relationships with Paul and Ringo and was very frank over many subjects. Paul said publically that George was his 'baby brother' and they held hands at George's deathbed for a long time. I think a lot of healing had taken place over the years - which is great to know...
George was a classy gentleman. I like how he said "It's alright, it's alright" when the interviewer apologized for "prying". :) He just seemed like a nice, normal man. (and good looking!) I also think "Cloud 9" had his best singing, like he actually got better as he got older. He had a really nice tenor voice.
@GingerGilligan I read his interview,he is easy going,he said he is slow,he naturaly hated rushing,he was tidy man, loved talking and listen people, you can see he is really relax, sweet,he was great gardener.loved talking to flowers, what a nice soul,I love him
Unlike one other person who commented here, I don't find George more honest here than in several other contexts in which he talked about the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame dinner - just more specific, particularly the comment that Linda (McCartney) was cursing and wanted to go to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
In this interview, I find that he was more immediately aware in time to give a proper concise answer. He didn't try to avoid anything - he just went with it. It almost didn't seem like it was George Harrison speaking. That was just really, really good. Thank you.
He was refreshingly honest here. Thank you opulent7 for sharing footage that we would otherwise not have seen. He has so many fans and loved in the U.S. God bless.
Love George's response to the line of fire question. We miss you George, there will never be another one like you, easily the most honest of the Beatles.
Wow. He just says it like he thinks, without worrying how it's going to sound. Very brave and a little shocking. One thing I'll never doubt is his sincerity. Go, George.
George could be honest about things without being rude and nasty (versus John Lennon who also said what he thought but had a vulgar mouth about it.) I agree with him about Paul btw. Actually I think George was too kind, I don't believe Paul was badly advised I think he just chickened out and used the "business differences" thing as an excuse.
