Today, the govt. has control of even what seeds farmers are allowed to use or how they are to use their land not to displace wildlife, as if the govt. givs a fig about animals. You can't just pitch up on some land and build a home, someone owns the land, and there are laws stopping you from just building!.

No matter what economic system, to maintain our current level of technology and infrastructure someone is going to have to do the dirty work. Mechanization can only do so much. Not to mention such automation can be seen as alienating and requires energy and other resources just to make the technology to make other goods.

Being an engineer, I know what is possible and what isn't in today's technological environment, and it is absolutely possible to automate water harvesting/purification, food production and power generation completely.

@realdmocracydelusion There is no reason why large scale industrial manufacturing cannot be automated entirely, even the service sector is becoming automated!, BUT this now comes down to what we actually want, what we desire, not what is possible!.

I believe there will always be a market for hand made goods, especially in the bespoke categories. However, many items, it makes no difference at all if they are hand made or mass produced in automated factories!

@realdmocracydelusion Fully automated production plants are simply inevitable at some point!. It is the last step in a process of mechanization a d automation that has been going on for hundreds of years!. It is more efficient, thus cheaper and production is more consistent!.

In many ways, the hands on workers are already obsolete, it is simply a matter of time before the technology filters down, and as i said, it is already happening!

And this is a good thing, it will make the manufacturing process by human means totally obsolete, freeing up human resources for other things, like creativity and self exploration!.

The trick will be continuing to fight for our rights so that this becomes the emancipating factor I hope it will, not misused as it so often is!

you seem to be under the impression that everyone wouldnt hate being a farmer or trades person as much as they hate the jobs they have at the moment. all throughout history people and animals have had to do some sort of work to survive. everyone doing absolutely nothing is not an option. i personally dont want to do a job i hate for my whole life but that is why im going back into education so i can eventually do something i enjoy.

Wecome o the real world ha has been pulled over our eyes for so long. Cars can run on water but Stan Meyers was murdered for inventing a buggie and fuel cell when he rejected a billion dollars for the idea Japan was to launch the hydro car but was attacked apparently by mother nature o stop the launch they recalled thousands of car jus before the strike hit because the dollar was worthless then Israel struck with a virus in the nuke plant. Stutnex, you see they get attacked by evil forces.
