As a result, daphne runs from apollo when apollo wanted to gain her love. She reaches a desperate point and prays to mother earth for help. Mother earth turns her into a laurel tree. b/c apollo loved daphne so much, he decided to make a wreath out of the laurel leaves and make it known to people the beauty of hte laurel tree.
