@dua0001 OK, I understand you can buy them *now* but back in 2009 there weren't any Mode 2 units for sale in Australia.
And anyway what's wrong with telling folks how to mod one to Mode 2? I mean, what if somebody had a Mode 1 unit and decided they wanted to convert to Mode 2! Cut a man some slack, eh!
I have a copterx/dynam 6ch default in mode 1. I did similar stuff to yours, except I didn't unscrew the whole thing. All I did was swap the metal plate, and remove springs and the rocker without unscrewing the 4 screws on the stick controls. But you have to have delicate hands to be able to install springs on the other side, which thankfully I managed to do with a thick long metal pin for digging ear wax. Muahaha.
@holden1550 For this to work on a real TX, it needs to have a switch somewhere inside it which converts the stick inputs from Mode-1 to Mode-2 after you move the springs around. I would suggest that this switch would indeed be there, as otherwise E-Sky would have to manufacture two different models.
I dont know why everyone is so gung ho about mode 2 when mode 4 is the most natural for a right hander and mode 1 is more natural for left hander. Mode 2 and 3 is just so un-nautural. And mode 2 is really only good if you want to learn how to fly a REAL copter since it mimicks the controls of a real one. Other than that if you are just doing the RC thing Mode 2 sucks. But I guess it all about which mode you learned in.
No offense, but couldn't you just change channels in the simulator instead of opening the controller up? I haven't received mine, so I don't know if the elevator has a spring or not.
Nevermind, just continued watching the video. So my "method" would make the pitch not jump back to center, which would be horrible. I like Mode-1 though. Just grew up with that and in my opinion as a right-handed flyer I prefer more control on the pitch.
Heh, you don't want to read my blog then. I don't mind folks who fly Mode 1 but I take a few shots at others who bag Mode 2 as being inferior. Any historical research will show that Mode 1 exists because technology at the time couldn't physically achieve Mode 2. I bet they would if they could have!
i've switch mode 1 to mode 2 in 20secs!! by play it upside down and tick reverse in the flight software and there i have it!!

will this work for a normal tx? Meaning one used for flying real not simulating.

@nilzxx Nah you need to switch the springs over, so it has to be done.
