This is why the bible says not to do this sort of thing. Neither one of you know Hebrew or Greek. And Neither one of you have an ORIGINAL greek manuscript. The most foolish thing I ever heard was a couple of Appalachian Hillbillies (which I am as well) argue about a greek language that even greek people cant speak anymore. BTW, does the COC hymn book say, spread the tidings all around, water saves? JESUS SAVES.

water baptism is not for salvation

@kingjamesav: Where do you see that in the Bible? How do you figure that baptism is not necessary for salvation? The Bible says in 1 Peter 3:21 that baptism does save us, even today. Jesus Himself was baptized as an example for us to follow, Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-12. He had no need of baptism, He had no sin. We humans have sin, therefore, we need baptism for the remission of sins, Acts 2:38. One cannot get into the church without putting on Christ through baptism, Galatians 3:27.
