@ClusiveC watching an armored core match gives a very different impression than playing one. The newer AC V would fit you better as there's no longer indefinite flying and the game speed has been reduced. The pre-AC4 games are also much slower and more tactical.

light weight reverse joint ac, dual gattling guns on the arms, dual chain guns on the back and 2 lazer blades in storage for when my gattling guns run out. havent played it for about 3 -4 months as i have to borrow a frinds xbox360 to play it and have started my margaret/ino run on p4 and a few others at home so ill have to practice a bit more first to get used to it again as im too hardwired to how ac2/aa/3 work

if you want to master tanks I suggest giving it decent thrusters with a powerful generator after all the tanks can carry more weight but their main objective is defense so your movement may be limited but my strategy is keep air born so that you can use weapons with a large blast radius and nail people when they hit the ground.

I gots a mid weight ac with twin spread missles, those missle flares that berlioz have, same body as Oblige, and the rapid firerifles from algebra. it's an okay ac, can stay in the air and boost like crazy for over 10 minutes before running outta juice. :)

Theres always room for improvement.

Wow, this is awesome. I haven't bought AC4 or FA yet, but I'm about to. This just makes me want them even more. The speed of combat in these games is how AC battles should be like. Can't wait to purchase the games, even if I won't be able to play them online.
Don't worry about online so much... there are some folk with scary epic skills, and Armored Core is a game for the hardcore fans (what with the learning curve and all), which makes fighting them like... well. Impossible.
Agreed. In ACFA a good amount of the people in the higher ranks are usually AC series fans. However I tend to see a lot of new people who just got ACFA and it being their first AC game (AC virgins lol).
The big problem with online is...there is little activity. However, there are surges of activity here and there.

I've always liked your vids on AC4. I've been playing the earlier versions for quite some time nowand I'm trying to get AC4 for myself; do you have any sggestions for a lightweight humanoid model as far as parts and strategies?
@Kuraud0 AC came out on PS1, along with the sequels AC project phantasma, and master of arena and the original is still one of the best games of the series lol. all of the PS1 titles are still worth buying IMO since you can still play them on a PS2, and also a PS3 i guess?
AC2 for PS2 is ok, AC3 is not even worth the money used, last raven and nexus are ok too, but i think the original is still the best although i haven't played any for the PS3 because i don't have a new game system.
Release the movement stick, hold turn left or right, then use the Quick Boost. What kind of boosters you have, AC's weight, and turning ability effect how far you Quick Turn.
I'd get AC4 first. The story in ACFA continues off AC4. So if you are like me, someone that actually cares about a game's story no matter how lame it may seem, you might want the whole story.
Most of the drama seems to occur between people who think the predecessors of AC4 translate directly to the game, and those who have actually played AC4.
After noticing that bunny-hopping is no longer a viable tactic, I've changed my status to n00b.
Bunny Hops actually are decent fast move tactics when combined with either the Overed Boost or Quick Boost. It's still more drainy than to stay on the ground, but can help out if you manage right.
i think heavy weights are a little two fast, ive got a light weight that can go 1000+ IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORY SO THE PARTS SUCK. AND A HEAVY WEIGHT WITH 6 YEAH 6 HE CANNONS AND 50K AP AND HE CAN GO LIKE 600+ AND QB TURN 90`.

HOWEVER when it comes to pursuit and close range fighting a simple laser rifle and a moonlight laser blade get anything down. PS: fast mech means 75+ speed on the build rating, otherwise its trash.

Well from what I hear from Gupps, AK, and others, AC4 is very different. Indeed many have already complained about some of the differences making it too "noobish". Still IMO the game looks very promising. On topic though...

As a long time tank pilot. I have to ask. Are tanks at all like they used to be? Are the controls at all similar to the old style? I could not adjust to the new controls for the newer games, and kept the old controls. I've been worried that they will abolish those controls.
everytime i see someone playing this game, they're just flying around all over the place shooting at each other constantly until one dies.

Lol no. Pre AC4 is for hardcore. AC4 are for casuals. This game is bullshit. Especially the network code. The game runs better on Kai then its own servers.

@Kuraud0 AC came out on PS1, along with the sequels AC project phantasma, and master of arena and the original is still one of the best games of the series lol. all of the PS1 titles are still worth buying IMO since you can still play them on a PS2, and also a PS3 i guess?
AC2 for PS2 is ok, AC3 is not even worth the money used, last raven and nexus are ok too, but i think the original is still the best although i haven't played any for the PS3 because i don't have a new game system.

Release the movement stick, hold turn left or right, then use the Quick Boost. What kind of boosters you have, AC's weight, and turning ability effect how far you Quick Turn.

ACFA kinda changed the function of the Quick Turn. In ACFA, you can use it to basically spin around a target. Great for dual bladers.

I'd get AC4 first. The story in ACFA continues off AC4. So if you are like me, someone that actually cares about a game's story no matter how lame it may seem, you might want the whole story.

Most of the drama seems to occur between people who think the predecessors of AC4 translate directly to the game, and those who have actually played AC4.

Bunny Hops actually are decent fast move tactics when combined with either the Overed Boost or Quick Boost. It's still more drainy than to stay on the ground, but can help out if you manage right.

i think heavy weights are a little two fast, ive got a light weight that can go 1000+ IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORY SO THE PARTS SUCK. AND A HEAVY WEIGHT WITH 6 YEAH 6 HE CANNONS AND 50K AP AND HE CAN GO LIKE 600+ AND QB TURN 90`.

I don't see you with any videos. With AC4's new Quick Boost, it's harder for lightweights to get behind tanks. And don't talk trash unless you can back it up. Welcome to Armored Core 4.

loool, hes right. And no its not a matter of getting behind the opponent (90 turn boost and quick boost make it impossible. HOWEVER when it comes to pursuit and close range fighting a simple laser rifle and a moonlight laser blade get anything down. PS: fast mech means 75+ speed on the build rating, otherwise its trash.

Well from what I hear from Gupps, AK, and others, AC4 is very different. Indeed many have already complained about some of the differences making it too "noobish". Still IMO the game looks very promising. On topic though...

As a long time tank pilot. I have to ask. Are tanks at all like they used to be? Are the controls at all similar to the old style? I could not adjust to the new controls for the newer games, and kept the old controls. I've been worried that they will abolish those controls.
