  • Keef the musical genius

  • Great Track I take my hat off to you, this is a great song ,But Live your good>>>>

  • i was at this in 97, i live in pc. i was 14

  • This is simply outstanding.. Perfect in every respect.

  • keith u like eagle ... U STILL STRONG, LUV YA

  • I saw them do this in FOXBORO,Ma. 1997 it was AWESOME!! Such a GREAT tune!!

  • This whole concert is a true gem.

  • supremely beautiful

  • poor Ronnie… Really it's a shame to play like that

  • @dandelion180963 Be fair. I am Ronnie Wood's biggest critic, but this aint too bad. Most of his playing on this is pretty good.

  • Well lets ALL just face it!! The Stones are plain and simple, without a doubt "the greatest band there ever was and will ever be"! Also, anyone who thinks they aren't good or that Keith can't play anymore, "What the heck are you doing here watching them for in the first place?"

(P.S. - I agree with Josh re: laurie - Do yourself a favor and get your facts [or NAMES] right before you make comments.)

  • @Punkydcat The best band ever. Since 1965 when I got my 1st 45 of satisfaction. The Zipper really worked!

  • Keith is simply a great guitarist! ....rythmn AND Lead. His playing is a constant mixture of the two. No; he doesn't do flashy pyrotechnic stuff like the famous "lead" guitarists. He just does good shee-it.....that FITS! Simply a world-class Musician !

"The Boys" sound good here! Ronnie does nice slide work; Charlie is AMAZING....as usual! Long live the Stones! Sometimes I wish I'd been born in a different era; until I realize I'd have missed this great BAND!

  • Damn this is tight.

  • @dezertfox4323 Damn right!!!

  • yeah!!!!

  • YEAH!!!!!!

  • well you'll always be able to remember marianne when you her "under my thumb" written about her. she used to treat jagger like dirt before he became more accomplished.

and valamo...richards hasnt been able toplay guitar since the late 60's early 70's when they brought mick taylor into the studio...who consequently refused to join them as a stone...

  • @thodun Geez! Your comments might piss me off.....if you weren't so Obviously IGNORANT! Some people are just too stoopid to talk to. You just earned the #1 position on Top 100 Dumb-asses of All Time list.

  • A great many songwriters go unnoticed when an artist covers a song and "makes it their own." I am a huge Tom Waits fan and two of his songs (Downtown Train, Jersey Girl) put huge dollars into the artists pockets that made them radio hits (Rod Stewart and Bruce Springsteen). Sometimes shit is just unfair, but I don't believe that Marianne Faithfull is even in the same stratosphere as the Stones. Sorry, but I disagree also cloudybongwater

  • I just learned this song with the guitar. As a drug addict in recovery I can tell you that, is very emotional to play it. Many times I thought I was gonna´be dead in the morning and asked my friends to stay around, it´s tough to listen to this song.

  • God damn! They sounded a billion times better as Junkies. Now they sound like some geriatric fuckers on SNL impersonating the Stones

  • @testerz123456

    dearie...they ARE geriatric fuckers now....

  • Great song and performance!

  • of course keef is the best rhythm guitarist alive today , as a kid he would sleep with the guitar his grandad bought him in early teens

  • @skynyrdyouth

i thought "keef" was something like hash... HeeHee...

  • , when Obama raised the liberal douchebag level to AAnegative. It's that's standard & poors has always blamed fairly responsible people or is the first president to do such to the world economy by total neglect and incompetence.

  • pour le groove & plus

  • 1 person doesn't like Morphine,lol

  • I a gree...Marilyn did write this, which they have acknowledged on some of their cd's

  • @lauriejlin Marilyn Monroe? Do yourself a favor and don't make comments about things yo have no clue about.

  • @lauriejlin Marylin ??? LOL poor guy ..

  • Sorry, Ronnie Wood ... I love you, but you ain't no Ry Cooder! ... Keith, YOU are the BEST rhythm guitarist EVER!

  • Great just great ! Mick Jagger sings so good on this . I love it !

  • I wish Ry was playing the slide part, not a fan of this live version. I wish they would bring the drums in like they do in the studio version, Oh well.... Anyone know a better version of this live by the stones?

  • wow, are the stones ALWAYS this poor live?

  • na det spielen wir aber besser ;) Schwefel & Geigenschrey

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo the best song of the rolling stones live... 1.-sister morphine 2.-gimme shelter two in the no security

please cousin cocaine !!! mexican cocaine

  • love ron woods on the guitar at 2:41

  • Taylor didn't in. He overplayed wildly. And, he didn't play on Sister Morphine anyway, it was Ry Cooder. I'll take Ronnie any day over MT. Which is awesome because he's been in the band for 35 years!

  • cool ! maybe you should overdose on some heroin ~ while youre doing that just kidding lol ~ lolz.

  • i cry....

  • so does a big hit of the dragon...

  • Marianne Faithfull wrote this song (she really did) although all credits go to Jagger and Richards.

Rather unfair to Marianne i think !!

  • @cloudybongwater Well, I've always read she actually wrote that part " Sweet cousin cocaine, lay your cool, cool hands on my head". Who knows?

  • @Jaggerzita Keith knows. He said so in his "Life"

  • she was credited with it on the re release of sticky fingers

  • @cloudybongwater Marianne Faithful is nothin but a syphilis filled cunt

  • @KayVaughn11 That was an interesting comment.

Obviously you have the wit and intelligence of an exceedingly stupid donkey!!

I always find it increasingly incomprehendable, the rationalization of cause and effect through the analysis of the ever growing constant stream of irrational hypotheses and agenda-specific misinformation, that people like yourself have little better to do in life then to blog useless shit, that nobody in the world wants to know!!

    Think about it........

  • @cloudybongwater Haha.. you're funny!

  • @cloudybongwater no its a stones song. marianne faithfull has covered it tho.

  • @cloudybongwater I think her version is superior too...sounds almost like a sin but it's my opinion.

  • @cloudybongwater As of 1994, she shares co-writing credit with Jagger and Richards, as part of a legal settlement.

  • @cloudybongwater Yeah, that's right Mick and Keith stole from everyone. No talent what so ever! They stole from the black men, Brian Jones, maybe murdered him as well? Marianne Faithful another Stones victim. Crap!

As great a song this is, it's just a footnote in their history of great songs. While Marianne might have penned a bit of this song, she was more of an inspiration for it then a co writer. Get off the Stones bash wagon! Did she play the guitar and put the chords together?

  • @cloudybongwater I beleive that the truth of this history is she came up with the title and a part of a verse while she was in her "hospital bed". Jagger never did junk, good for him. His performance singing as a junkie comes from his observation of his chick Marianne and his mate, Keith. They both have talked a lot of shite about Jagger in their autobiogphies. Junkies always talk shite against the man who keeps it together. Even blame the ones who help them out he most. fuck them!

  • @cloudybongwater she's been included as well. its jagger richards and faithfull. all the best :-)

  • @cloudybongwater actually, the great Marianne appears in the credits, of the 1971 record, sticky fingers.

  • @cloudybongwater she get`s a part of the credits later on, so creul they aren`t

  • @cloudybongwater pretty sure she just wrote the lyrics

  • @cloudybongwater Yes, this was her song. YouTube is so cool, you can search and find her original version, who she was writing about, etc. It was NOT originally about abusing drugs at all. That is what the boys really contributed and it did become a major reason so many people related to it.Marianne Faithful is great, as tears go by, etc. They collaborated a lot, but the Stones were after all one of the boy bands of their day.

  • i love getting high on heroin to this song

  • i love this song. on a winters night ill just sit there in the living room looking at the stillness of the winter at 1 a.m. in the morning and this song goes so good with it for some beautiful peaceful reason!

  • Maybe we should read the rolling stones mag. to find out what elements determine the most important aspects of adjudicating a musician.

  • Sorry don't agree. Richards is still one of the best rhythm guitarists alive today. That's the difference between someone who watches a performance versus someone who listens to the music. I have seen the majority of today's major acts and the Stones are absolutely still up there . Keith is a genuinely superb musician .. suggest you head back to your collection of Wham singles ... twat !

  • @valamo He is indeed, and one of the biggest rats in this world.

  • @valamo

You can't believe how much I agree on your point of VIEW. Thumbs UP.. Rgds from Holland...

  • @valamo Exactly.

  • @valamo tell em

  • @valamo - They're actually not very good musicians, as far as musicians go. They were absolutely terrible in the beginning. Your way over the top in your assessment.

  • @valamo Those who can, do, those who can't, talk. Don't worry 'bout it mate. We know what's what!

  • @valamo ,,,i got i word to say,uh,make it 5 words,,EXACTLY,HE IS THE BEST!

  • They really are crap live. Keef "Worzel Gummidge" Richards looks ever more a parody of his former self.

  • grandi e soprattutto grande RONNIE!

  • great performance! the stones in the 90th were in top form

  • Hard to duplicate Ry Cooder's epic slide in this song live.

  • beautiful tune dudes

  • Been waiting for this one. Thanks for posting it! Hopefully it's not owned by those assholes that pulled the last 2 out of my favorites.

  • This song really shows Ronnie's isnt half the guitar player Mick Taylor was. Keith should have done the slide on this one, Ronnie is weak.

  • oh god, it´s my live

  • so genial keith playing this with a tele

  • Yeah, it's superb, so leave it at that.

  • bigdam you shut up & show respect.

  • nice, thanks for posting
