As a police officer of Michigan, I can park in a "no parking zone" as long as I am in a marked cruiser. If you are handicap, you can park there for 10 minutes. I don't know what the laws are in NYC, but in Michigan she is in the right. I like what you are doing, keeping the lazy officers on their toes, but in this case (according to most states) you are wrong.
If you did that in the UK you would be down on the floor. Camera would be sized and you would have a major fine for some reason or other "they would find one" you would also probably be strip searched and locked up for at least 4 hours. The states looks so relaxed. In the UK if you had a camera to a police man he would literately smash it out your hand.

@grimmlock25 Actually in NYS, for an emergency vehicle to be legally parked there, they must a) have emergency lights ON, and b) must be responding to an emergency call. That's exactly why there are signs specifically marked FOR police/emergency PARKING. "No parking at any time" means exactly that, and its for a number of reasons. Being that close to an intersection and a subway, its a safety reason. People turning onto that block need to be able to see to pull out, parking obstructs the view.
What you fail to realize...is that it's a marked police vehicle...on duty. It's not going to be there for more than a few minutes. it's not a double parked moving van on 5th ave. It causes no undue burden on the traffic pattern. You're just a jealous cop-hating whiner.

As a police officer of Michigan, I can park in a "no parking zone" as long as I am in a marked cruiser. If you are handicap, you can park there for 10 minutes. I don't know what the laws are in NYC, but in Michigan she is in the right. I like what you are doing, keeping the lazy officers on their toes, but in this case (according to most states) you are wrong.

Camera would be sized and you would have a major fine for some reason or other "they would find one" you would also probably be strip searched and locked up for at least 4 hours. @grimmlock25 Actually in NYS, for an emergency vehicle to be legally parked there, they must a) have emergency lights ON, and b) must be responding to an emergency call. That's exactly why there are signs specifically marked FOR police/emergency PARKING. "No parking at any time" means exactly that, and its for a number of reasons. Being that close to an intersection and a subway, its a safety reason. People turning onto that block need to be able to see to pull out, parking obstructs the view.
