Ive actaully been a panthers fan since they announced the team in 94. so yea i am. and he is the quiet leader of our defense that is trying to work out some serious issues right now. He is one of the most gifted athletes in the NFL right now and he is putting up good numbers. if we did not have peppers this year we would not have any shot at a winning season. He is easily one of the top three players on the panthers, and top 10 if not 5 best players in franchise history

the thing about our run game is they cant key in on it. we have the best running pair in the league. if the best rush defense cant stop us, nobody can. i agree we do need a bit of passing game, but the way we played AZ worked just fine. pound the rush and pass every now and again. i think jake completed 7/9 passes. thats right were he needs to be b/c the more passes he throws, the higher chance of a pick. and when jake throws 1 pick, he cant do good for the rest of the game

it is possible to win with absolutely no passing. not easy but doable. i do think we need a good qb. or jake could just turn his '06-'07 mode on. he used to be so good. who knows what happened. all i know is if jake doesnt turn the ball over, our offense can easily walk away with a good game. and of course our d is solid w/ peppers, beason, marshall, gamble and the rest of our great defense. i think even with delhomme bringin us down, we can turn this season around and get at least a wild card

Think about it........the Pats could trade their 1st rounder and a low 2nd rounder (there's not a player in the draft they could get with the 23rd pick in the 1st round that they cant get with the 34th pick in the 2nd round-and much cheaper). I think New England is that proverbial AFC team that Peppers refers to wanting to play for. Although they run a base 3-4, NE has the talent to easily slide into a base 4-3 at any time during a game. With Peppers standing up as an OLB, he could approach the line at any moment and put his hand in the dirt, which would cause chaos for a center issuing blocking assignments.

The only question remaining is NE willing to part with either their 23rd or 34th pick to get him? And can he drop in coverage

Yea I'm psyched! He can play DE or DT in a 4-3, as well as DE or OLB in a 3-4. With the Pats being very deep at defensive line, there should be any number of ways for Belichick to utilize Pepper's unique skill-set to take advantage of that.

The Pats could very easily transition between 3-4 and 4-3 looks prior to the snap! If the team can land a good free-safety in the draft... then this Defense could be very, very good!

He seems to do well at run defending and blitzing the QB more-so then he does at playing center-field. I would like to see us draft a true ball-hawk of a free-safety and allow Meriweather to play the strong-safety position.

I love Sanders. I think he's been a consistent player for our secondary and a good "safety valve". I was glad when we re-signed him. But I would love nothing more then to have an Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu type of player to stand 20-30 yards from the line-of-scrimage in that "center-field" position. I have no idea if such a player exists in this years draft... but I can only hope BB wont repeat his last draft error, when in 02 he took Daniel Graham over Ed Reed... damn that still hurts...
