I have since sold the chassis, but do still have the body. Has been modified now with a custom hard top (see my more recent vids).

If I bought one like this would the electronics be fried by salt water?? or can you only run it on fresh water. We have many beaches were I live and I want to make this as a dune buggy , then run it on the water

As long as you waterproof it successfully, the salt water wont be in the electrics, so it shouldn't affect it. If salt water does get in your electrics, flush them out with clean water asap, and leave them to dry - should be ok.

The salt water will affect the metal parts of the chassis and axles though. So I would think you'll be ok, but will need to do a very careful clean up after running in salt water.

Thanks for replying, i asked this as i have recently built a axial scx10 with all waterproof eletrics and was wondering if i would ruin the foams inside when going through deep water! When you say bouncy do you mean float?

Well, if you run holes in your rims or tyres the foams will get pretty nasty. But so what! Foam is cheap enough. (I make my own out of deorators sponges from b+q).

The holes will let the water back out aswell though, so it's not too bad.

Plus the extra weight in the wheels helps traction and Centre of Gravity.

There aren't really any benefits to leaving them sealed.

Only if you put a hole in the rim, or in the tyre.

I put 2 holes in each tyre to let the air escape. The tyres can deform better and give more traction.

If you leave them fully sealed things get bouncy! LOL.

Well, I don't have a Tundra, but it's almost the same as the F350 and Hilux. So very scale, but needs some mods to perform well. If you are starting out, have a look at the Axial SCX10. Stick an HPI Defender 90 body shell on it and you will be winning comps!!! It's a great rig. (Cheaper than the Tundra too)
